I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story. So PM me if you are starting one.
oh look its that game that went to pax 2 years ago to show off the crappiest pre-pre alpha ive ever seen to generate "hype"... and now youre showing off a damn horse model? get out of here
Well i have nothing against businesses in general,i had the feeling something was up with several games because they receive way too much attention here. There are hundreds of mmorpg's,thousands and thousands of games, yet always the same few get constant attention here.
I will say this straight up,all the fluff in the world can no longer persuade me,I have seen it all.
It is sometimes tough to put into words in a sentence or two.Yes i love all the little ideas that bring a world to life, some realism to make it all plausible.
However there is a key component i look for in game design.I want to see a game that acts like a real world, the ENTIRE game has to have cohesion, everything is tied together and everything must make sense.
Just this example of horses can and should be a robust system within a game world.Feeding them, caring for them, breeding them, training them and using them for both battle and leisurely travel.
How often have i seen nonsense where some Asian game wants to sell little critters to go around and pick up your loot. Then they set out to create a ton of meaningless loot just so you will buy that cash shop pet.
I want to pay a sub fee, similar to life in the real world,we pay ,we eat, drink, work, travel,we pay rent or property taxes,we buy homes,we have entertainment ,we own shops, sell things etc etc,you know create a living world.ECO systems, weather,Biomes etc etc.
Bring me a COMPLETE robust well thought out game and i am sold,i am in for the long haul.Do NOT try and sell me gimmicks or cash shops or pvp Season passes or BR crap.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
That was some amazingly realistic motions, even the way the horse moved their head when walking backwards, so far, the best I have ever seen.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
What they are showing looks good, does it look like it is coming out within a year, no. I see nothing wrong with having a look at horses and posters need to check their outrage tourism at the door.
yea... right. just did a quick search on horses and BDO, and those here look way better.
but thx for your input.
Not sure about the horses in Archeage, but for BDO, they aren't an improvement, of course when the game is finished they might be better? but its a theoretical argument at best anyway as AoC is far from being finished and its mostly concept art.
People whine when devs release little info or videos what they are working on, same people whine when devs actual release videos and info what they are working on...yawn you guys are never satisfied.

People wont be satisfied until devs start releasing information on the things which really matter such as node mechanics, combat, and most of all, a target release date.

Probably about equal IMO. Which is high praise for AoC actually, since BDO's horses are some of the best animated ones I've seen on an MMO (not counting the silly skills like the drift & IA combo :P)

Give me a call when they show players in mounted combat, then I might be interested.
Mounted Combat is Overrated.. I enjoyed riding, training, and breeding horses in BDO.. and this game is much better animated than BDO, which is saying a lot, as BDO had (to date) The best horses of any game.
Not everyone needs to hit things to enjoy a game.. which was one of the things I loved about BDO, you could play all day doing all kinds of things, and not worry about how great you were at killing stuff.
