It probably wont and it shouldnt since the genres are different. The only thing I want is co op so myself and my lady can play together.
This ^
This is all i need from future TES games. The option to have the same good old offline single player experience and also have the option to play both online coop and offline local coop.
Hopefully nothing that was done in ESO makes its way to other Elder Scrolls games.
Idk....I'm really enjoying the story and exploration so far. I think it's a beautiful game overall on ultra. I'm not sure if I'd want this more action-y combat in a Singleplayer ES or not...
Gut Out!
Not sure if you played the other elder scrolls games but their exploration, in my opinion, is much better than Elder Scrolls Online. Heck, I could write a book about Morrowind alone.
So, while waiting for the next Elder Scrolls game (not Blades) I guess I"m going backwards.
Going backwards is not a bad thing. I've been playing Dragon Age Origins this week,
Because of you I reinstalled Dragon Age Origins last night. So thanks. Damn you!
I've tried to get into Morrowind a handful of times, and just can't do it. I think 6 hours is as far as I've been. To the first town trying to talk to as many peeps as possible for the story and to get quests.
I'm patiently waiting for Skywind/Skyblivion, so I can play a more updated game, and maybe that will help. I'm not sure what my deal is with Morrowind, and I'm not usually a graphics/QoL snob...
It would be great if a SP ES game would cover as much ground as the MMORPG, so it would be ES1-5 all in one game.
I agree co-op would be a nice touch to the non-MMORPG ES games. The more peeps that join your game, the harder the mobs would be and better the loot drops, or something. I'm not sure how they would work out skills/leveling if you were in another person's game completing quests, but I guess it would move forward your story also?
I feel like I am hijacking this thread so I will respond to the question first. I hopes Eso doesnt influence the new game to much. One thing that is great about the series is the changes from game to game coop could be ok but friends might ruin the experience. Second part do theses drakensang games work with windows 10 steam had people saying they dont.
Hopefully nothing that was done in ESO makes its way to other Elder Scrolls games.

Its not that ESO is a terrible game its just that there is nothing in ESO that was done better than say in Skyrim. At least nothing that is material. They are completely different games with completely different play styles. They need to stay that way in my opinion.
I'm hoping the devs get all the shit shows out of the way and knuckle down for ES6/Starfield, so we can get back to enjoying the IP/and new IP.
Then I'll rely on all the talented modders to add awesome free content for decades to come. Hopefully, the devs won't rely on the modders as much as I do though....
Hard to say what it would or wouldn't affect for future titles. Will be interesting to see if they borrow anything from the online game for TES6.. kinda like how FFXII took some inspiration from FFXI's open-world exploration, non-random monster encounters, etc.
Funny enough, though, playing ESO has given me a new appreciation for the single player games. Why? Well, because of all the things that make playing ESO as a TES game a pain in the ass aren't a problem in the single player games.
I approach ESO and single-player TES games in a very similar way. Very open-ended. I tend to float from one activity to another as my mood changes. Do some dungeon delving for a abit, then some quests, then maybe some gathering and/or crafting, etc.
While I can do certain things in ESO mostly unimpeded, what really ruins it is dungeon delving, doing certain quests/missions, or even just exploration at times. That's where the "MMO" part really comes crashing down on the experience and kinda pulls me out of it.
I've started up a new character in Skyrim. My first time really digging into it in several years. I'm having a blast, in ways that I couldn't in ESO.
Examples...
In ESO, if I want to do a dungeon, I have no choice but to be sharing the space and the spoils with whom ever else might be there. If it's a group dungeon, I have to wait in queue, or hope I can find the people to do one - especially if it's one of the less popular ones. It took me a couple weeks to finally get a group for Crypt of Hearts, because no one wanted to do it. "It's too long", "the mechanics are too annoying", "the rewards aren't worth it", and so on are all the reasons I got. I'd sit in queue for 2+ hours and never get a group without someone inevitably dropping out once they saw which one it was.
In Skyrim, if I want to check out a dungeon, I just go in and see how I fare. There's no "seeking permission" (figuratively speaking) from others to do it. For example, earlier this evening, I dropped down into Sightless Pit. It was tough, but I was managing. Then I went into its inner area, Temple of Xrib, and proceeded to get my ass handed to me by a bunch of Falmer. I had to fall back to a save I made before entering.
It was awesome, because it was me just exploring and testing myself against an unknown dungeon. No one was screaming at anyone else about whose fault it was that we died, there was no one saying "No, there's no point going in there. The rewards aren't worth it". No one pasting parser numbers to shame people for "not doing enough DPS" or Healing or whatever. None of that.
Even better, now Sightless Pit remains a mystery to return to later when I'm better prepared to complete it.
Another example is doing quests that require you to sneak into a place, steal an item and leave undetected. I was on a quest like that in ESO, for the Dark Brotherhood. For some reason, ZOS decided to make those mission areas uninstanced. So, you end up having other players all skulking around at the same time.
So, I was having a flawless go of this one mission. I'd achieved my objective and was on the way out. Then, another player being completely careless gets noticed by guards and proceeds to train them straight at me. They stop next to me, like I'm going to save them or something. Instead, I quickly move away around a corner, but it's too late. Even though the guards didn't engage me, I was noticed and so I had a bounty for trespassing. That really pissed me off. My experience had been ruined by another player, and it was completely out of my control. Something like that happened several times on similar missions.
That's another thing that could never happen in a single player TES game. It's just me. If I screw up, it's my fault. No one else can F it up.
Those situations, and numerous others made me realize how much more I appreciate Skyrim, and the single-player TES games in general now. Much more than I did before.
ESO's a great game. I think Zenimax has, mostly, done a great job with it. I enjoyed myself greatly while playing it. But I don't know if I could play it anymore, at least not as a serious RPG experience.
Going back to Skyrim has spoiled it for me, and I just don't think I could enjoy it anymore. At least not on that level.
Hopefully nothing that was done in ESO makes its way to other Elder Scrolls games.

I play ESO like the singleplayer games anyway. I don't do group stuff, and I jump into WB's that have peeps already fighting them. I'm told most content can be soloed anyway if you get high enough levels, so I'll just wait to tackle those dungeons then.
I've been playing Skyrim using the Ultimate Skyrim mod pack, and REALLY enjoying it. It's based around the Requiem mod, and Belmont Boy has done a good job of optimizing a bunch of mods to work well together with it.
All the mods' options can be tweaked to really fine tune the experience you want, and it feels/looks like a totally different game. It's great fun!
