Pearl Abyss – Construction on massive new headquarters to begin this December

MikehaMikeha Member EpicPosts: 9,196

First announced back in January earlier this year, Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss subsequently got the necessary permits in June. Yesterday, it was revealed that work on the massive 20-level building will begin this December, with an estimated completion date set for February 2021. Located in Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town, Pearl Abyss will have many game developers as its neighbor, especially Netmarble. The latest report also gave a brief insight on what features some levels will have. Read on for more information!

● To cap off this short article, it has been a long journey for Pearl Abyss since it was founded by Mr Dae Il Kim in 2010 after he left the Continent of the Ninth team at Webzen. In an age where mobile games thrive, the company’s core success still came from its PC MMORPG, Black Desert Online. A truly remarkable adventure, and we cannot wait to see what Pearl Abyss has prepared for us this November at G-Star 2019. Stay tuned!

Well Black Desert has been a goldmine for them. I hope they give us even more systems like what they started in BDO in their new game. I truly enjoyed the trading, worker empire and other PvE aspects of BDO.

I mainly hope that they've learned from BDO. And don't take three years this time around to improve quests and actually have them give decent rewards from the start. And yeah, that they keep the node system and some of the other good things.

The world is shallow, as is BDO. Many colors, pretty sounds, boobs, pretty faces, more boobs, mindless grind, more boobs... BDO is a perfect game for today's world. A mile wide but an inch deep.

No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

Long story short - they made the base game crippled and put in cash shop ways to uncripple the game.
So PA created a problem then sold the player base the solution.  Typical of devs now days.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Jesus, I knew BDO was doing well, but never imagined it made so much money.

For all detractors, BDO is one of the best MMORPG released in recent years.
    It’s Archeage done well.

Fast forward a couple of years and the core players are like - damn I've spent thousands on this - can't quit now as I'm so close to really maxing out - and PA just keeps adding more systems with more RNG and more ways to spend real $$$ and still never max out their gear - and now players are like damn - spend almost close to $10,000 - I've invested too much - must keep playing.

The hardcore PvP whale was already over that number in one year. While the more normal players that don't care about PvP are nowhere near it.
