Players can now get three pets for free!

Never thought I'd see the day, but starting with maintenance tomorrow, players will be able to get three pets through one time in game quests!

It's always been one of the top complaints that BDO pretty much forces new players to buy pets, with the alternative being them suffering through having to manually loot every mob (which gets tedious fast, since you kill more mobs a second than in a damned Dynasty Warriors game).

Definitely a step in the right direction IMO

This is not correct at high kill speed PvE for classes that can clear super fast - like musa at 250+ AP

The short answer is : as stated by a guy below. T4 pets loot roughly 33% faster. HOWEVER, they can improve looting amount by up to 2x the amount of loot in some areas."

The reason for this is, T4 pets in addition to having faster loot time of about 1 second, they have faster movespeed so they are always by your side as well as no animation pickup. This means if you are a fast grinder/ fast moving class that goes to an area that has a long travel time in btw packs you benefit from T4 pets alot more.

T4 pets also give you an additional pet skill which can give 3% exp/+1 luck/gathering etc. Though you can have them on T3.

T4 pets if using Fox/Polar bear also give higher unique skill values ie 5% durability reduction with fox or +50 LT with polar bear.

Agile mode decreases the cooldown in which your pet can loot another another item at the cost of depleting the hunger bar faster.

T1 pets are absolutely garbage in comparison and you should just probably lifeskill instead. T3 pet is suitable for most players, but T4 pets are the best.

The profit difference depends on the area in which you grind in the end and your GS. But the tests, which I will put out when done (need a larger sample size), of grinding fogans with T1 vs T4 killing the exact same number of mobs (250,000, found out with marni stones), is the difference between 5mill and 18mill avg so far. With T3 pets on agile vs T4 the difference is 12mill vs 18mill.

In terms of trash drops only (no scrolls/seraphs) it's T1 = 2135.6 T3 = 4832.7 T4= 7652.9 in the data I have collected so far.

edit: note final data is not even close to done, this is only over the course of 3 runs on each tier pet. (though I'm getting demotivated each time I do it due to the HUGE profit loss from T1 pets)

Bottom line - t1 pets are garbage as you are losing a ton of loot because they just wont be able to keep up with you

Remember that BDO rewards players that spend money - so spending about $300 to get decent t4 pets (more if you are unlucky) will put you head and shoulders above those running around with t1 pets

Well, with a level 62 witch with only T1 pets, though all at level 10, i can assure you they are more than capable of keeping up with the loot drops, the only reason to get higher tier pets is because they give slightly more bonuses either to processing xp or gathering xp etc. when it comes to picking up loot, there is no real benefit to be gained. Of course i am only speaking as someone who actually plays the game rather than someone who studies statistics.

Nice AP! All i can say is that despite only having t1 pets, i have never managed to kill so many things so fast that they couldn't pick everything up, 62 Witch, 58 Wizard, 58 Ranger, 56 in virtually all the others except the Zerker, and thats just using pets at normal speed, not in agility mode!

You will lose loot.

If you mean desert fogans, then been there done that, didn't lose any loot, usually go there with 5 crystals, not a lot of xp but i have maxed out on weight carried and usually have at least 70 inventory slots free for loot, clearing mobs is as fast as i can manage, but AP is only 240 even so kill speed is pretty fast and the circuit is an easy one, only at 62.4 so a long way to go to 63 and as you know its a very slow process. Picking up loot however is not a problem.

If you dont kill fast obviously any pets will work.

I am simply saying that at high clear speed with a good farming class t1 pets wont cut it

didn't bother to play bdo, but as rule for farming

there is a reason, if you want loot for gold, you want to do the kill per mim and gold per mob, normally, mobs who can be killed in mass fast, with a lot of then close give better return, remember is all RGN, so the more you force these numbers to happen better the outcome, sometimes killing a higher grade mob even if they CAN drop better quality loot, is offset but teh low killing, if you are sniping for a expecific drop then that don't matter much, you will be killing the add who drop said item, but if you want a drop who is know fro droping from several mobs, you go for the weaker, to faster killing, extra loot, and better chance to get your drop
