Just wanted to give thanks for bringing up Vanguard. Downloading the client software now and will play it on an emulated server. :D

The company is literally a guy name David that lives down the road and publishes movies.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

EQ, PS, DCUO and they cant figure SOMETHING out. I don't hate them, I don't care for them either but I do love 2 of the titles they have and its sad to see what they are/have done to them. SoE kinda lost their way but it sucks when DBG took over and you could see they never had a way. Best bet would be someone buys the IPs and does something with it instead. Don't want to see eq1/2 or ps2 shut but also would like to see something done with them.

That is bad news, but sadly expected. To me, they seemed to have lost their way after they became Daybreak. The latest Planetside Arena game also seemed like a last breath action to make some quick bucks.

I play PS2 and DCUO from time to time. Not enough to follow Daybreak. So, what's the deal with Daybreak being disliked around here?

The Russian Millionaire bullshit has been disproved so many times at this point its not even funny. They are owned by Inception Media group LLC, based in Santa Monica, Ca. which is owned/run by David Borshell and Andy Reimer.

Really? Are you part of the disinformation effort as I've never seen any "proof" of your claim.

At the time it was reported, "the companies apparently began deleting online documents and NBC discovered that Columbus Nova had registered multiple domains that appeared to be set up for disinfo spam."

In fact,  earlier this year MassivelyOP shared this story yet again linking Daybreak, Columbus Nova and Russian ties which even CNN apparently got in on.

Your turn to link some proof, OK?

Or are your claims just bullshit?

Should have a slogan like this:

    Daybreak. They break everything!

I hear Intrepid Studios has a lot of ex-Daybreak and Ex-SOE talent.

I hope if any of the current layoffs are contacted they do their homework before taking a job with that failing studio. All I will say on the matter.

They didn't change when SSG was set up - specifically said the game would continue on the same, WarnerBros, servers. No mention since of any change either. So no.

WarnerBros was also down to continue with customer service as well.

DBG was hired for - something ... "distributor of new expansion"? ... was never very clear imo especially as SSG seem to look after the digital sales etc.

Things were broken when they took over. The question is: should they have made much deeper cuts when they took over.

It would not surprise me at all if Warner Bros acquires DCUO from DBG and sets up their own game studio, with DCUO being their only product.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

Its entirely possible that if DBG went under DCUO would automatically transfer to WarnerBros & DC. A joint venture (legal) agreement will have been agreed between the companies prior to DCUO being developed and launched. And one of the default clauses would be "In the event of one party going bankrupt etc. then x, y, z". Such a clause is so standard its very hard to see how it could have been left out.

So DCUO may just carry on as is - it was moved into a distinct corporate entity within DBG. run as you say by WarnerBros or some other company.

Possibly the threads that sprung up about DBG "owning" LotR / SSG etc. A lot of people politely pointed out that that was "a misunderstanding" - i.e. bs.

i still have NO IDEA why planetside needs a battle royal mode.
the whole game idea was basically battle royal * 1000.

this .. thing... basically only reduces PS

they should have focused on finally fixing obvious design flaws they made during the development - for example the decision to leave a HUGE hole in their walls for people to enter... da hell? who builds a wall without doors/gates, just with open spaces, that is NO defense... or the removal of the hack system to take over a base... rendering stealhers pretty useless (or reducing them to snipers)

but i guess that train left ages ago already, and now they just try to grab as much cash as possible before it ends.

Still wish I could've seen their faces when they were about to launch their BR and Apex Legends came out of blue. Tears were shed I'm sure.

Good. No surprise there. Perhaps those devs can get a meaningful jobs now and not waste time developing an obvious turd, because somebody up there is out of touch.

It had 6 people online when I check at 16:51 Pacific. That's better than the 0 the EQ2 Emu project has online right now though. I died a little inside when I saw that. :confounded:
6?! That is the double the amount it had when I was playing. I uninstalled after that, some things should stay buried, even if it makes me sad.

Did anybody really believe Daybreak had any chance for success? Time to break out the white tent.
They were GIVEN success, all they had to do was nurture it along and not screw it up, yet they seem addicted to screwing it up...over and over.

Oh! So Jason Epstein was just the senior managing partner of Columbus Nova and it got reported wrong that Columbus Nova took over Daybreak. Interesting. Thanks @Hatefull for clearing that up.

Common knowledge that it was Columbus Nova that bought SOE from Sony and renamed it Daybreak. Anyone that was around when it happened should remember if clearly. Of course, its possible that 'history' is being rewritten, there are various reasons for that to happen after all  ;)
