The Outer Worlds is finally here. This is a game I’ve been looking forward to ever since it was first announced. To me, it looked like a game in the vein of classic Fallout wish a splash of Mass Effect. Of course, I’ve been playing on PC and here are my (very early) impressions of the PC port.

I like it. I'm enjoying it.
These are my very early impressions though, so... yeah.
As a general rule for myself I must own a physical version on console for RPGs, but I also buy the PC version if it's as flexible as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.
Aside from the technical stuff mentioned in this report I hear a lot of good things about the game so i'm very interested in it. However, nobody (that i'm aware of) has mentioned anything about official mod support, in game console command, etc. I'm starting to worry that this game is more a feature-locked spiritual successor to Mass Effect than it is a spiritual successor to Fallout.
And honestly, the game itself is brilliant. I’m loving it. It feels so wonderful to play a proper RPG again from the people who have pioneered the genre. I’m just disappointed with the state of the PC version and wanted to share my findings with folks to help them understand what they’d be getting with the PC version. Hope it was helpful.

Me too. Awesome RPG mechanics! Love being able to talk my way out conflicts
Game runs great. looks great. is fun. and im only just finishing first map.
Apart from the fact that isn’t a review (but of course you knew this because you read it where the title says “impressions”), you nailed it.
Probably rushed and unfinished...
I'm curious about that as well. I remember that being an issue in Deus Ex Mankind Divided as well. The game was divided into 3 parts, the first 2 were excellent and the third one was shorter and weaker.
Yup, Obsidian also has a really strong history with post launch support so I would expect a lot of this stuff to get added / fixed.
DUH welcome to 2019 where an Ultrawide Screen is normal. To those of us who have one, speak for yourself. I agree with the author that a lack of support for something so basic is ridiculous and would impact my fun factor as well.
There Is Always Hope!
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
The game is fantastic..
Going to play through in about 35 hours..
I just finished the first area of the game and so far - zero bugs
Lots of stats and the way they work isn't apparent initially.. Makes sense to look closely at what they are doing...
The humor is clever and the writing in exceptional.
I already see a replay in my future..
I went dialog/melee focused..
No macro/micro transactions, special edition, early access, PTW bullshit.
You can repec if you want. Congratulations to Obsidian for doing what so many others have failed at recently. Yes, a single-player RPG can sell and will be well-received if you care enough to make it well. Not everything needs to be a Battle Royale.

Playing ESO on my X-Box
What i watched on twitch streams was actually pretty bad.
The graphics look bad,the game almost looks like a cheaper version of Tabula Rasa. Those ugly cheap looking metal structures also remind me a lot of those SOE games Planetside.
The textures are very low end, this game should run on a toaster, basically looks like it was made on the Unreal 1 engine.
I was watching hard mode and seemed EASY mode, personally hate MODES in games, deliver ONE mode because modes ruin the whole immersion of a game.Like someone asks....was that Boss or combat difficult...answer,well on this setting it was easy and on that setting it was tougher and on that setting tougher yet, yeah it get's dumb. Hand guns, sniper rifles...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz,boring.
