That's pretty far from reality bro....my point stands.
Not the ones i have come across.. But your mileage may vary... The ones i have come across have been pot-intellectuals that could quote some books and act mighty tough... Until it came time to actually put up or shut up.. at what point they.. well.. shut up...

But feel free to put forth your view on it.

I just post a lot on the hot issues, could have been anything else.

Just that Blizzard has been the hot topic lately.

If you think this is obsession.... you haven't seen anything yet

    Seems legit.

I'm seeing a generally positive reception towards this BlizzCon in various sites. But I always know where to find negative response to virtually any news: MMORPG.com comments section.

Never disappoints when it comes to a dose of negativity.

    Go see Blizzard subreddit

The general feedback from people at Blizzcon is - meh

You can see it on livestreams - the audience is way more subdued than at previous Blizzcons.

And no it's not the protests- it directly has to to with underwhelming show of new products- Diablo 3.5, Overwatch DLC, yet another WoW expansion.

When the highlights of the show are the CGI trailers you know the products underdelivered
You mean the subreddit, which .. based on their comments, BlizzCon should of been on fire and we would of seen movements to free Hong Kong like never ever before seen?!

The general feedback from people at Blizzcon is meh? Based on what? Source? Or is because of the Blizzard subreddit posts ? Ok :)

If anyone is seeing D4 as D3.5 needs to put some very big glasses on their eyes. Like very big. Open World alone, makes D4 to stand on his own. Is the first Diablo game having Open World. The only thing they "kept" from D3 is the smooth animations which is awesome.

Or maybe, you want to point out the similarities between D3 and D4? I'm waiting ..

Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!

Agreed. Im not seeing everyone calling Borderlands 3, Borderlands 2.5 just because they share some similarities. Its a whole new game, new story line. D4 is father from D3 then BL3 is from BL2. Some people are just fishing for things to be negative about. Give it time, let us see more as the game progresses before you nail it to the cross.

I don't know all the details about Hong Kong and China. What I do know is that Blizzard is an American Company which should support American Values being Freedom and Democracy. I understand that Blizzard does business globally but American Values *should* come first for Americans as well as American Companies even abroad.

So if a player stands up for a group of people that are being oppressed by expressing core American values then he shouldn't be punished for it, he should get some support for it.

When a company cares too much about losing money in other countries to support American values, that company is the problem not the workers/players etc.

I don't see this as being any different from the NFL players taking a knee at the national anthem to protest police brutality. Go watch a video of an 11 year old girl getting beaten by a cop because she is black and you might start to understand.

Why get so mad at people trying to bring light to oppressive issues? Companies need to put people before money.

The word you're all looking for is "defuse": reduce the danger or tension in (a difficult situation).

    Kinda of worked didn't it?

The convention floor. Not seeing any "April fools" or "Don't you have phones" equivalent memes from this year... have you?

His apology or rather non-apology crafted to seem like an apology, was done merely to try to keep things civil and focused on their games inside Blizzcon.

Just like the NBA, there's too much money to be made from China. Suddenly, Democracy and human rights take a back seat to profits.
Funny you think they were ever in the front seat.  Countries only talk about them when it is good for elections or making someone else look bad.

Then climb on your horse and uselessly protest all the US companies in China.  It will take you a long time.

Moderate the forums (this is Blizzard, they can pay for this). Allow the discussion instead of proving everyone’s point about China and the capitulation by Blizz to a wealthy communist state.

My experience comes from the cells in Portland and Berkeley, where everyone from Attorneys to young College professors are members, they are smart violent, financially backed, and have sympathizers in local government. They literally cause millions of dollars of damage a year and only a fraction of their antics are reported on.

I think you have seen the wannabes, the real deal tactics are no different than Mussolini's Black shirts, like I said if anyone has their hand on their heart about Communism, they might want to tackle it in their own back yard first.

But deep down everyone knows this largely is mock outrage and internet dog piling
Maybe so.. But that was my point... Outside a few cells most are just posers.. The friends of ABC... Unlike for an example the alt right people who are often very well organized, armed and structured. At least where i live.

Then again i think of communism as a very pretty idea with no attachment to reality.

Socialism... that can work... Communism.. No freaking way in hell. It relies way to much on people being good and wholesome...

Yeah.. That is true. But it also comes out as way superior to most other systems up to that implosion.

Socialism doesn't work either. It creates more social need, bigger government, and more intrusion on individual rights. Rinse and repeat in a spiral downward. And that circles down the drain towards communism as the big government eventually has the social need to take more and more from the individuals, for the sake of the whole, in the economic mess it creates.

Shit.. Better tell Stefan Löven that... Then again.. He has enough problems as it is right now.

No as noted above as long as the population is small and grows slowly it works perfectly fine. Yes it leads to fairly high taxes but beyond that it seems to work fairly well and sadly if my dear homeland is heading anywhere it is towards the (from the US imported) alt-right. Not towards communism.

It only works (for now) because of the natural resources in that part of the world compared to the population. When that changes, it's a different story.
