I've been dismissive of people arguing to avoid the Epic store on the basis that it lacks some peripheral features that Steam has.  But "lets you log in" is not a peripheral feature.  I can't remember the last time that Steam was down like this.

Either way, not a good look.  Maybe it has something to do with the big Fortnite event today?

Imho all the web services have occasional problems. It's not important to get 100% uptime as long as the problems are rare.

Well I'm not defending Epic store but there have been plenty of times over the years Steam has either been down, or slowed down to a crawl due to various events.
