    No. Just no.
"3D Mobile MMORPG" translates to "Shameless moneygrabbing empty shell of a mediocre self-playing wannabe game"

I read the article and it sounds good.

I watched the video and it looks good.

But iI can hear Leo Getz shouting in the back seat, "Guys, guys, guys. never go through the drive through ok, ok? You know why? Because they F*** you in the drive through."

Which is essentially how I feel about mobile games.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

They are so popular though we're just going to see more and more of them. I just hope that over time they continue to rise in quality versus the obvious cash grabs we've always seen. BD Mobile and EVE Echoes are doing a good job, hopefully Warhammer here falls into that category too when it's out.

For those who don't know yet, they DO have a successful game that has indeed been running since 2011. It's called Celtic Heroes, and has NO advertising aside from word of mouth from players, and it's still doing very well. That's the only reason I'm looking forward to this game.

Yes, I know many of you are skeptical, with VERY good reason too. I still am. But seriously, please give this game a try. There will be NO auto play. None. Zero. It will NOT be pay to win. These are things confirmed by the developers. These devs have done a good job, and to my knowledge, there won't be an energy system to limit you from playing. No VIP system to get free stuff/bonuses. From what we've seen at the discord (https://discord.gg/whodyssey), and from actually talking with the devs themselves, this is going to be a good game.

Was not payed to say this, I'm just a loyal fan to a good company.

At least if you're gonna make a mobile mmo port it to pc cause not everyone wants to play on phones or get account compromised using bluestacks.

I agree. They should make a port to PC, playing on mobile isn't for us, classic MMORPG gamers, but there is a whole new generation that is avid to play hardcore on mobile. I hope this new Warhammer MMO is successful enough to be awesome for them and for us.

How will the devs make money to continue producing content for this game if it's not a pay on entry title or if they don't incorporate P2W tactics (MTX shop with EXP potions/talent or skill resets/bags of crafting mats, etc etc)? Don't get me wrong, there should be some way to support the devs if the game doesn't turn out to be a raging dumpster fire as previous Warhammer titles (especially mobile titles) have been. MTX in the form of Skins/Cosmetics/Name change, etc, would be easier to stomach than blatant whale hunting of most mobile games.

I have played Celtic Heroes for years and the developers from that game are working on this. I have payed nearly 4 thousand us dollars on Celtic Heroes and it was worth every last bit. This game will be a breakthrough in Mobile gaming and I know many people who haven't paid a cent on Celtic Heroes and we're 10-20x more rich than I ever was and had better boss drops because they were more active. I have kids and a wife and work but it was worth it to pay to keep up with the leading crowd and support further development. I have high expectations for this game and I have no doubts they will be fulfilled.

If they want me to play it is very simple: Make a PC version.

I was impressed with what could be done on a mobile these days when I tried EVE Echoes, but no way in hell will IO be playing that on a phone, and playing it like the Pro's, that is on PC via an Android emulator, just seems stupid TBH.

So nah. Give me a PC Client.

For those not interested in playing a MMO on mobile I completely understand, I prefer almost all my games be on PC. If you want to give different mobile games a try though you can use an Android emulator such as Bluestacks.

As for mobile, I agree monetization has been horrible. Unfortunately, it is the fastest growing, most accessible, and largest segment of the global games market at approximately $68 billion revenue in 2019. (46% of total market) Developers at least have to take that into account when planning for products and release platforms, especially since 5G and cloud tech is only going to allow for mobile to grow even more in the near future.

That being said I do have a bit of hope that certain companies now entering the mobile space will be taking a different approach on how they set up microtransactrions for products to balance out community health/well being, unfortunately such companies, for now, may be few and far between.

Before writing up both interviews I tried Celtic Heroes and it was not to bad. As a Warhammer fan I am cautious but hopeful for Warhammer: Odyssey.
