Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order thoughts.

I love the Star Wars universe, not a hardcore fan but do enjoy it, so I thought I will try out Fallen order thrue Origin premium access.

The game have gotten pretty good respons and ratings, but I really can't get why it did.
Sure the story are ok, the cinematic are fine, the characters are interesting, but here is the kicker.
It is a god damn 3D platform game, I knew it would have some elements of it but every planets are the same, yes they are on rails and you are forced to back track to planets you have already been to just because you gotten a new skill such as *gasp* swim down, so there is no fast travel you have to run thrue the tedious planets 3D platform layout to get yet another lightsaber skin.
I gotten the feeling that the planets are a lazy job from developers side, instead of making big lush worlds that feels Star Wars we get THIS????

The planets are boring, there is no life to them there is no immersive aspect to them whatsoever, It's just SW donkey Kong

When will we get a true open world SW game?, the gaming world needs one, BAD.

Don't look for a deep video game. If you go into it to be told a story that has some fun game play. You will love it. It really is a gem of a game.

I thought it was god awful terrible, I made it maybe 15 mins in and uninstalled it. That's not even getting into the horrid story line that makes those ww2 bombers from that horrid new movie look intelligent.

It just shows u the days of hard to play intelligently created games are in the past, they have been replaced with boring mass produce drivel kinda like movies haha. There are gems here and there of u look hard enough, but all the games seem the same copy and paste garbage.

The only game I found interesting in 2020 is grim dawn Diablo 2 mod, and old world. I'm just thankful I didn't pay for that garbage star wars game. It is a far cry from even force unleased. I enjoyed running around as Vader and then seeing his apprentice killed and revived it was fun.

Ea killed video games and Disney killed movies, it just mindless drivel for the masses.

I seriously doubt we will ever get a good open world star wars game, Disney owns it and they make dumpster fire garbage, and ea is horrid. Your best bet is to play kotor 1 and 2 if u didn't, then go to star wars galaxies and pretend the awful horror show of ea and Disney didn't exist. Wish I never looked hqha.
Funny you liked Force Unleashed. It's much the same game. Mostly story, easy game play mechanics and anyone can complete it. Force Unleashed was more on rails then Fallen Order.

I never made it far in it probably 4 hours, my guess is because I could play Vader, but once that wore off I quit. I dont play games very long when they force me to do things. If it wasn't Vader I probably wouldn't of even played it lol, it also was free on ps now. I definitely wouldn't call it a great game.

Only starwars games I beat were swtor 1 and 2, and swg but that's debatable if u can beat swg lol, I did have a elder jedi though and played it from the first time it came out.

When the swg emulation opens thier non wipe server i will definitely go back to swg.

If I remember right, playing as Vader was the level to teach you how to play. Think it was only 15 min of game time. I think you maybe judging games too quickly.

I was not going to buy this game. Then I relented and thought it was terrible I think Skyrim and the like have ruined games for me, I just want to be able to look east and go that direction and explore if that makes sense. The one real problem I had and is the same for the first force unleashed is you do not feel like you are that powerful light sabers should kill in one hit.

And this is EXACTLY what I DO NOT want to do! I want structure, I want meaning! Games like Skyrim, Minecraft etc are meaningless and amorphous. I don't like that at all.

Just give me a properly directed game with a nice story and fun gameplay and I'm set to go. Think Sekiro or Nioh.

Besides, Beskar / Cortosis / Quadranium etc do exist and all of them can and will resist Lightsaber strikes. It don't make sense if unarmored targets survive more than 2 hits though(that's why Smuggler is inherently super silly in SWTOR).

I was really hyped for KOTOR,played a lot every day for a week then got bored.Never played a SW game again then out came SWTOR and i was super hyped. The game again got me into it for about 2-3 weeks maybe was a month, played a ton then got bored.

Gaming tends to be a few systems rinse and repeat over and over and it gets boring.I like games to open up NEW ideas, stuff that looks like it actually took some new lines of code to make and not just new scenery or a new zone.

On the notion of open world,i disagree and a LOT.Sure there are a very large number of gamer's who like hand holding mindless linear paths directed at them but imo there is also a large group of people that enjoy the opposite.
Just last night i watched the news as an elderly couple were rescued after getting lost "wandering around in the woods".I hit a walking/cycling  trail often and there are always people there  every minute of the day.

Disney that is a complicated ordeal,i feel it is more a dumbfounded mindset in people.Like often it is more a dizzy parent who feels compelled to take their kids because it makes them feel like a better parent by doing so.Like my sister took her kid when he was only 5 years old,i was ummm sort of angry and told her so,are you retarded i said.Sure enough she comes back with a horror story, she lost her boy for about 3 hours as he wandered off into a kids play park and was hiding in a long tube hanging out with other kids.Long story short, she said it was a dumb idea to take him at such a young age and i was like "YOU THINK!".Also on that same notion, a place like Disney ios NOT a themepark of hand holding, what makes it special is the sheer size, the feeling of being lost with ENDLESS choices of where to wander off to.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

You can have both in some games think RDR2, you can explore go where you want etc or you can follow the story to the end.
