I love the Star Wars universe, not a hardcore fan but do enjoy it, so I thought I will try out Fallen order thrue Origin premium access.
The game have gotten pretty good respons and ratings, but I really can't get why it did.
Sure the story are ok, the cinematic are fine, the characters are interesting, but here is the kicker.
It is a god damn 3D platform game, I knew it would have some elements of it but every planets are the same, yes they are on rails and you are forced to back track to planets you have already been to just because you gotten a new skill such as *gasp* swim down, so there is no fast travel you have to run thrue the tedious planets 3D platform layout to get yet another lightsaber skin.
I gotten the feeling that the planets are a lazy job from developers side, instead of making big lush worlds that feels Star Wars we get THIS????
The planets are boring, there is no life to them there is no immersive aspect to them whatsoever, It's just SW donkey Kong
When will we get a true open world SW game?, the gaming world needs one, BAD.

Just give me a properly directed game with a nice story and fun gameplay and I'm set to go. Think Sekiro or Nioh.
Besides, Beskar / Cortosis / Quadranium etc do exist and all of them can and will resist Lightsaber strikes. It don't make sense if unarmored targets survive more than 2 hits though(that's why Smuggler is inherently super silly in SWTOR).
Gaming tends to be a few systems rinse and repeat over and over and it gets boring.I like games to open up NEW ideas, stuff that looks like it actually took some new lines of code to make and not just new scenery or a new zone.
On the notion of open world,i disagree and a LOT.Sure there are a very large number of gamer's who like hand holding mindless linear paths directed at them but imo there is also a large group of people that enjoy the opposite.
Just last night i watched the news as an elderly couple were rescued after getting lost "wandering around in the woods".I hit a walking/cycling trail often and there are always people there every minute of the day.
Disney that is a complicated ordeal,i feel it is more a dumbfounded mindset in people.Like often it is more a dizzy parent who feels compelled to take their kids because it makes them feel like a better parent by doing so.Like my sister took her kid when he was only 5 years old,i was ummm sort of angry and told her so,are you retarded i said.Sure enough she comes back with a horror story, she lost her boy for about 3 hours as he wandered off into a kids play park and was hiding in a long tube hanging out with other kids.Long story short, she said it was a dumb idea to take him at such a young age and i was like "YOU THINK!".Also on that same notion, a place like Disney ios NOT a themepark of hand holding, what makes it special is the sheer size, the feeling of being lost with ENDLESS choices of where to wander off to.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
