My monitor just died and I haven't bought a monitor in a few years, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend one or at least a good brand to go with for around $100 if possible, preferably 1080p.
There are thousands of 1080p monitors around $100. It's probably the most common monitor today.
Dell is pretty good for monitors, that's been my go-to for a while now, and they have pretty much all the price points covered.
Other factors to consider - what type of video input do you need? Do you need mounting options? Is screen type a consideration for you (TN VA IPS etc)?
I'm going to assume in that price range that things like color calibration, VRR, and high refresh rate aren't necessarily priorities, but would be nice to have if you could find them.
Are Asus/Acer usually good in general now? I know Dell has been around for a while, so they usually have solid enough stuff (although I think they were usually more pricey back in the day). I'm mainly asking because some brand recent I was doing into others like Spectre and Viewsonic suggest they're 'low price' because their quality if usually questionable.

At your budget you can't buy good, but cheap stuff sold buy Acer or Asus is usually good purchase for that price instead of being terrible. So if you have to buy something really cheap, they're a good choice.
You'd have about 13% less screen area than previously, but if you're ok with it that monitor looks good purchase.
Also note that that monitor looks like it doesn't have DVI port. It has HDMI and VGA ports. Check that everything you want to connect to that monitor has one of those ports before making a purchase, but nowadays everything should have HDMI port.

That's the largest $100 monitor on New Egg that I could find that is new, in stock, and has an IPS panel.
