Paper Mario?

I have never played a paper mario game and was wondering how the new game was?  At first I was excited for it then I saw how the combat was and was like wtf?!?  Seems like it is more of a matching game than anything.  Am I missing something?

    Personally it is a pile of junk but here is what i suggest seeing how the world of gaming is just full of BS deception and salesmen.
    Go to You Tube,yes you will get videos on the game from people making money off of gaming but what you do is TURN OFF the volume and just watch the video to get the best viewpoint of the game with no coercion from the broadcaster.

    I have an idea on best how to rate games...

    Paper Mario=worth $0 to me
    How much would it take to get me to play for 6 hours straight?Painful but at the very least $500-$1000.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    I watched a couple videos and just didn't see the appeal.   Thought maybe i was missing something.   Give me mario golf please

    I haven't played this Paper Mario but the previous ones.
    It's old school turned based combat which you either like or you don't.

    Other than that there is no super dark plot twist at some point.
    The appeal is all about Mario & Co. and even his enemies like Bowser are simply outright charming.

    So two issues really:

    A. Do you generally hate games like this?

    B. Do you generally like games like this but hate this one?

    I am in category A. So it would not be fair for me to throw shade at a game I am predisposed to hate.

    EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

    Its a solid entry with a poor combat system, or so I have been told. The golden standard in the series is The Thousand Year Door which this game doesn’t reach. And owning the latter I can say that standard is mighty high.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    Only downfall to the game is the combat system. Everything else is fine.
