The way it was handled in the US seems pretty horrifying to most people living in communist countries like Europe, Australia, Canada, etc.
But yes, just tell people to leave the country they live in if they have qualms with the way its run. That's a very good line of argument.
I mean, why on Earth would anyone complain about 1,000+ deaths a day and billions in unregulated handouts to failing major corporations - it is what it is, right?
Dunno what drug you are smoking but Canada isn't a communist country. Might want to learn what communist means.
Canada
is a parliamentary democracy (based on the Westminster system) that has
a constitutional monarch as head of state (the UK monarch, who is also
the monarch of the Commonwealth of Nations which Canada is a member of).
The Crown is a figurehead and is represented by the Governor-General
who is a Canadian citizen appointed by the Prime Minister.
The
major reason why Asome might claim Canada is a communist country is
because in the late 1950s and early 1960s, through several pieces of
legislation, we created publicly funded, universal, socialised health
insurance, administered by the provincial governments. For some this legislation is
Stalinism of the worst kind.
HOWEVER.....
Having universal health care funded by our taxes does not equal a socialist or communist country...it just means when you are older and no longer have work insurance, or if you work insurance sucks you don't go broke trying to pay off that heart attack or when your wife gives birth you don't incur a huge debt for having a child etc etc
He was joking since outside the USA different systems are being used that are quickly being dismissed as Socialist or Communist when both are as far removed from the truth as possible.
What can ruffle peoples feathers is that often when USA systems or solutions are under scrutiny the response is that it might not be perfect but it is still better then other countries are doing it. Not only isn’t that true but it also reflects a pinch of patriotism that is alien to most other western countries and is often seen as chest thumping or uncivilized by them.

Well he/she should put a /s when being sarcastic about certain things as it did not read like so.
Considering I have seen quite a few claims in these forums that Canada is a communist/socialist country.
This slapping of labels like this is the worst form of sloppy thinking by ignorant people that need to educate themselves a little more rather than spout their favorite political party line..lol
I’m
starting to really get sick of these unsubtle ways of simply writing an
entire system off as “capitalist” or “socialist”, it’s kind of lazy and
masks the complex, shifting dynamics at work in all modern industrial
societies.
“Capitalism”
and “socialism” are less discrete social systems than they are forces
that operate in opposition within all industrial democracies.
Yes, yes I know...I got a little triggered..
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Not sure you correctly understood my point. If one is complaining about the very idea of "Capitalism" and living in a country founded on that idea... it would seem the problem is on their end.
And here I was thinking it was founded by slavers.
That answer makes less sense than the prior one. You answered 2+2 = Apple.
I guess it’s easier that way. OK. Have fun.
Sorry there was just too much Tucker Carlson BS to unravel in your post.
I thought most of the founding fathers were slaveholders, and that the US was built on the back of slavery. So if someone is complaining about the very idea of slavery and living in a country that was founded on it, should they just be told to move to another country? It seems to me that such complaints and objections are a fairly important factor in getting rid of bad practices.
Also yes, Europe fucked up big time in their initial response, but deaths per day in the UK are currently at zero compared to 1,000-plus in the US. Its a similar story in pretty much every advanced country outside the US. Its a terrible mess and I fear and worry constantly for all my friends in the States.
uh, it seems like everyone is getting personal, but the US is fucking embarrassing when it comes the the covid response. I mean... fucking stupid and horrible to be honest.
