Played it for 30+ hours and couldn’t enjoy at all. The whole game is a mess. Unclear directions, quests are confuse, combat texture doesn’t make sense and skill points are just useless to invest anything. Besides,
Whole hub is lag fest and graphic is ourdated.

    Not recommended.

The game will be getting a large graphic overhaul in the next 12 months to modern standards. For the rest of the game, I am not sure what other things they will address as they launch a sister game that your char can jump between this game and the new one.

It's a shame the steam version is region locked... Can't download it :(

I don't get why there was so much hype around an 8yr old game in the first place. So the moment it released in the west it was already outdated by nearly a decade. I wasn't hyped for it and don't plan on playing it.

If you're in the Netherlands it's because of the anti lootbox laws.

the combat is very good compare to most games that I know, but the game it self is somewhat repetitive and they have casino inside the game, bound to be banned is some region.

Anywhere that have banned lootboxes is region locked out of the NA PSO2, like Belgium & Netherlands.

BTW the steam PSO2 discussion have died on me just now with 502 error.

8 years or not after playing it for that long i still can't find a mmo thatis as action mode.

The hype is on the fact you don't need to use tweaker to play jp anymore and don't need to use windows xbox bullshit.

Over all it's a solid game if you like the dungeon run format...that and age of games really shouldn't matter in the era of no new mmo's.

    Imagine being that guy.

They've already announced a completely new version of PSO2. Why would anyone even bother with this shitastic port now?
Both versions run in tandem and your character carries, so instead of waiting for no reason, you can play now.

Also, the game is really good. If people were going to stop playing all 8 year old games we wouldn't have any MMOs to talk about.

Is there any reason why you do not want to get it from Microsoft Store? Is the Steam version region locked? Waa I wish I have my own PC with me right now so I can try xD

Technically, both are region locked. However, the Microsoft Store version can be easily bypassed by changing your region. It does come with a lot of nuisance which I was hoping to avoid with the steam version. Sadly I'm not in the accepted countries.

So the best thing about this: I started playing PSO2 with the Windows Store client. It took me about 3 days to get this running, had to tweak about everything on my computer. Then about 1 or 2 weeks later they released their first bigger patch and thanks to the patch my game broke and I wasn't able to play. Then I heard about the PSO tweaker program, installed it, game ran again. Next patch, game broke so hard that even PSO tweaker didn't work.

So I said to myself 'screw this, I'm done!'
Then I heard about the upcoming release on Steam and I was ready to give it another try. Downloaded and started the game and SURPRISE! To link your Windows Store account with your Steam account you have to start the Windows Store client and generate an activation key which you then have to use in your Steam client and there is NO OTHER way to do this.

This so ridiculous that I'm lost for words...

So you still have to go through the store, does that mean that you have to every time you log in on steam.

    100% THIS
I guess people are dying for anything new to play even an old game. The combat does look fun but that doesn't make up for the mostly bad grindy crap in the game. Its known as one of the most grindy mmo's on the market but you never here this from the fanboys. Over the years they have just kept adding more and more crappy things to the game and you have 8 years worth now. This is a hub based game not really open world like most mmo's too. Think Skyforge with this game.

because maybe a 8 years old game is better then most games today?

that is the sad thing you should think over

Finally got to play this today, in brief. Counter intuitive UI. Combat is OK. It's a lobby game, kind of a waste of potential. Doesn't really do anything better than any other game of this type. I am mystified by the hype. Music will drive you nuts, voice work is obnoxious, art style is garish, and the whole thing feels cheap. If you are already invested in other lobby quasi-mmos, I don't see a reason to try getting into the grind-groove with this one.

I dont know who says its the most grindy game on the market, BDO is a grind fest on steroids. I managed to make it to level 75 on main and sub class in this game in like 3 days. After that its running missions for RNG weapon drops (which is what you do on almost every single MMO on the market). A lot of us "Fanboys" have been excited because we love the IP and have wanted this game in the west so we could enjoy it, nothing bad about that, hell people still enjoy the hell out of LOTRO and that game is older than this. and yep Hub based game is fine, Ya know, like Warframe, Skyforge, Secret World(the new version), and several others. But if thats not your cup of tea then thats fine, just wait till next year when next genesis comes out and brings the Open world aspect, new combat, new graphics, and new movement mechanics..
