Larian is one of the best studios currently. Div 1&2 are among the best games ever in the genre and they look like they pale in comparison content wise to what this will be. I have total faith in the developer to pull this off in spades. So looking forward to this and dying in horrible and funny ways.

I always thought that some of the monsters in D&D were absolutely ridiculous. Having said that, that's the best "OwlBear" I've ever seen.

    Bravo Larian!

I did that with both D:OS 1 and 2. I'll do the same with this.

Even though I kickstarted DOS 2 I waited until after launch to play.  I will EA BG3 day 1.

The more I see of this the less interested I become. I would caution everyone who is saying day one purchase, Larian has released two buggy games already. Both DOS and DOS2 required extended or whatever they called it versions to get the bugs out. They did give them away for free but the regular editions just felt unfinished for me. I really enjoyed DOS did not really like DOS2. this game looks exactly like DOS2.

I saw their live video of the gameplay from the head guy.  Sure he was demonstrating a lot of different strats to use on an encounter, but it sure seemed very slow to get through basic fights.

Loved Balder's Gate II and Icewind Dale, so I like hybrid/turn based.  I think this is a wait and see more me.

I may try those other games people have mentioned DOS and DOS 2 if they are on sale.

OK... if there's one thing I hate is revisionist history.

I played them both in their original version and I can tell you that neither DOS nor DOS 2 were "buggy games" by any metric. They were actually much more free of bugs than typical releases these days.

The enhanced editions of both of those were almost 100% additions, enhancements and balancing. What bugs there were in the vanilla non-enhanced editions had been fixed long before the release of the later versions.

The fact that they also were free upgrades was just gravy. Other companies would have sold them all over again as GOTY's or "definitive" or some such shit but Larian didn't.

I played both games at launch there were all kinds of bugs that affected gameplay if you do just a simple search you can find 20 pages of bugs from 2014. Saying there less buggy then other games doesn't make it right the fact that both of the original versions stopped getting support while there were game breaking bugs so they could work on improved versions was second rate. then they released the console versions that had the same bugs they had fixed on the pc and had to patch them. I liked the first game and all but they release unfinished products and then expect you to wait for them to fix it. that is fine for early access and kickstarter garbage but you do not expect the same bugs in a version released a year later on consoles.

Just doesn't have any Baldur's Gate vibe to me. It just looks like Divinity's Gate more than anything else. They could win me over by having better combat and less ... spastic atmosphere(both gameplay and story felt rather juvenile in D:OS 1).

Needless to say, I don't like Larian very much, but I hope it will be good. Both for the sake of the IP and so others could have fun.

I guess in the end that is what I am trying to say it just looks like a DOS 3 which is fine but after playing the xbox release of baldurs gate and watching these videos I feel like the best thing I was the mind flayer trailer and it has been down hill from there. I hope it has a good story.
