I'd be more inclined if they hadn't dumbed down the combat so much with the mystic soul badges. Everything is done for you anymore.

Played when in launched na, for half a year? maybe a bit more, some class came out and remember the entire server being the same class and poking some fun at that (warlock ? maybe)

Haven't played since then, that doesn't sound like a very good change at all i loved the challenge, the game was tough, you had to get good af or forget it, and yeah that's prolly why they changed it.

Don't get me wrong i like casual too, and lots of it at times, but that was a huge highlight for me in this game.

Back early on, you had more of a skill system, where you invest points in what you want, and can reset them to redistribute those points at any time while out of combat. But oh noes, that was just so super hard, and complex, so they dumbed it down to the point it was mostly just pick between your two element options, and you're pretty much done. Your choices were further limited by all the investment you'd need to make to get stuff to enhance your one element, and stuff to enhance certain skills. After so much investment into those things, instead of adjusting your skills to your situation, you just didn't change anything anymore.

Also when online games sell progress, as B&S went into big time, then they tend to make playing, without paying a full time job due to the amount of grinding you'd need to do, as they really want you to spend your way to power. Updates kept adding more, and more levels to existing stuff, and new stuff, for new slots, all would take a crazy amount of grinding, or you could just empty your wallet in the next trove event, and get everything.

The combination of those things. the super toxic community you had to deal with, and other issues sucked the fun out of the game for me, and many others, so we quit. Back when you played there was several servers, they've since merged them multiple times, so now I think there's just one for NA, and one for EU.

I miss the old Blade & Soul, back when the weapon progression system wasn't tied to Gems, and used weapon drops and materials dropped from monsters throughout the world as upgrade components.

That old weapon progression system is what made the auction house function as it was supposed to, but as the NA version strayed further and further from the pay-to-play Korean version (which was really a thing i promise, Blade & soul was originally a paid subscription game before it made it's way outside of Korea)

I don't know if we'll ever get the full story of what really happened with the original Team Bloodlust team that split up shortly after the Korean versions release, but it feels like ever since Team bloodlust disbanded, it loses more and more of the game's original values and spirit.

I've been playing since release and still play every day. I love the characters in the game. Lyns are so cute.

After you complete the story their is lots to do but you can't do everything (mainly new stuff) till you catch up with gear and LEARN DUNGEON/RAID MECH. So you just can't jump into new stuff after you finish the story.

If you can tolerate doing the same dungeons everyday at endgame for the daily challenge for rewards and the poor performance (frames droping to 10-15fps in raids/dungeons) it is a good game. Having friends or a helpful clan helps a lot to catch up.

New events monthly. Some are to catch up new players but most are just to give event currency to buy stuff like outfits, gems and mats to upgrade your gear.

Content is kinda stagnant right now. Rumors of a lot of remade/updated old dungeons while BNS is being updated to UE4. When that will come I dunno if ever.

I suggest playing thru the story at least if you want to try the game out. It is a long story and 80% of stuff dies in one hit cuz they streamlined it to make it faster to get to end game.

My 2 cents on the game.
