Open world adventure game being developed by ex Rockstar devs.

"In the near future, technology has brought humanity to the precipice of a world shifting change.

There are those who want to use this technology to advantage only themselves, and those who want to use it to help all humankind. Will we look to the stars? Or stare only at our feet? Will we be inspired? Or live in fear?

There’s a war between good and evil in the hearts of men and women. Everything is changing. And there’s no going back.

It’s a game. It’s a community. It’s a new world. The storm is on the horizon. And it is only the beginning of EVERYWHERE."

There isnt much on it other than the brief description I put in my op and a few news articles about them and some job postings.
Guess they have been working on game for a few years and was originally going to use Amazons Lumberyard engine but switched to Unreal 4 engine.

Looks like they have gotten 42 million in funding and are competing with GTA VI.

They aren't... since there won't be a GTA VI :)
(sorry, just the pet peeve of mine)

Jokes aside, I believe this Fry thinks (and hopes) waay too much into it. Benzies is really good, but it wasn't just him, it was all three of them and how they counterbalanced each other.
Like Carmack and Romero, together they've catapulted the whole "first person" from Hovertank to Quake, after separated one made soulless (but still awesome) tech demos, the other made Daikatana...

What I'm trying to point at, Benzies indeed can finish and deliver games, can work on both low and high budget effectively, that's already proven.
But he'd still need a good writer/world builder (Dan also has left Rockstar, maybe a good candidate?), and someone with vision (probably a bit less maniac than Sam), to deliver a really great game, since he himself ain't a game designer.

It's a promising project, and a lot of GTA fans would jump on it (since Rockstar is all about Online now...), but it all depends on the team he can assemble for the job.
I keep it on the radar, cautiously optimistic...

This looks literally like it stole assets from past GTA games honestly. I was extremely bummed about Gta 5's online version since it was just endless killing sprees with no real RP elements. I thought you'd choose a role like taxi driver, ambulance driver/EMT, police officer, robber, drug cartel, kingping etc. I know a lot of that might be boring and people would be drawn to cops/robbers though.

I feel like this game would need a lot of mechanics to make it fun because RPing as a clucking bell employee getting robbed by someone RPing a mass murderer more than likely wouldn't be as fun for the normal life esk adventure.

TLDR: there would have to be tons of in-game mechanics to make the game fun and interactive.

There is no game footage yet, these videos are just using footage from other games as filler so the viewer doesnt have to stare at a blank screen while they talk about Everywhere.
Probably would have been better if the cmaera just showed them as they spoke but maybe they are camera shy.

How is that different from all other websites? Most of them use cookies nowadays.

IKR, at least I could view the games website w/o clicking accept as it was on a small banner at the bottom. Unlike this website that puts it middle of screen so you cant see what is behind it til you click on it.
