I don't want any of the things I like to be given the MMORPG treatment for sometime.
I thought I'll be the negative Nancy one, but Turtle was quicker... :)

Maybe I'm entitled, or at least have the delusion of that, but I feel like I'm mostly covered already.
LotR, there's a pretty good game for it (let's forget the recent years and stupid decisions of SSG)
Howard, there's a pretty good game for it (AoC), mostly Conan with a pinch of Kull in form of the world's history
Star Trek, there's a pretty good ok, a decent enough game for it

With those checked, and by looking at the industry's current state, in an era where they make a Diablo from M:tG and a dumb survival from Dune, I'd definitely prefer they stay away from the rest of my favourite IPs.

A Foundation MMORPG would be awesome, but right now they'd probably make a dumb spaceship action game of it.
    Babylon5? A faction-based pvp, at most.
    Stargate? A 4 player co-op looter shooter...

Nope, wholeheartedly agree with Turtle, game industry of today has nothing to do with established and liked IPs, at least I wish.
They'd just exploit and ruin everything.

Ya know, Stargate, as a Lobby Dungeon Running Game, like DDO, would be pretty epic.

Still, a Warhammer 40K MMO, would be the epic shizzle.

You have the whole Imperium of Man, and Universe to have endless wars upon.

You have direct faction Wars, with Orks, Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar, Tau, Necrons, Tyrranids, Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar, etc.. some of which could be playable, while others could be PvE focused.

You have all kinds of variable game modes, that could be added in with expansions, like intergalactic Ship to Ship Combat of Battle Fleet Gothlic, Massive Titan Warfare, underhive gang wars of Necrmunda, even add in Squats if they felt like needing to toss in more.

You would have ways to have horizontal and vertical leveling. From Going from Generic Space Marine to Specialty unit, like Heavy, Sargent, Apothecary, etc, all of which would be horizontal, to upgrading to an Elite units, which would be vertical.

Almost endless amounts of wargear options, from Power Armor to terminator Armor, all kinds of guns, swords, etc, even.. dreadnaughts for those that then to be unlucky.

And, best of all, to all the players that say they want this. You start as A Generic Space Marine, not some chosen one.

    Stars Wars

I know I know, we had one and it was great....but deeply flawed and short lived. Then they attempted to make another one, but failed. So, I think it would be awesome if we got a proper MMORPG set in the Star Wars universe. With EA losing exclusive license, this could be on the cards in the not-too-distant future.

Raymond E Feist's Universe - Midkemia, Kelewan etc. Either during the Riftwar or Serpent War would be my preference.

    Westworld

Jurassic Park - I have a real love for dinosaurs and these movies, I think it could be interesting to see what sort of mmorpg could be created for the IP

Altered Carbon - only seen the TV show, not read the books, but it seems like a very vibrant, well fleshed out image of the future with some great sci-fi concepts and a lot of openings for a game.

For short fun, maybe, but I believe it'd lose a lot from the original... the whole space aspect, exploration, etc.

AC is good, just ain't really from childhood  :)
How about the source of AC's core idea, GitS? Oshii's movie was in the '90s, the manga goes back even to the '80s I believe. (just recently watched GitS: Arise, nicely developed origin story they did there)

It's a "safe" suggestion since I'm certain it won't be an MMORPG ever. Not even due to the crappy, incompetent state of the industry, but for the complexity.

CP2077 and Watch Dogs presented how they can't even make just parts of it right (CP the cybernetics, upgrades etc., Watch Dogs the hacking/controlling), in a singleplayer game... let alone with multiple players around.

No surprise the GitS games so far were simple shooters, and on consoles.

Stargate for sure. Farscape also and may be some Mistborn and I think the latter with the coin thing and other magic system will be so awesome to play.

Gonna be honest, I loved the movie, but the TV show got way too stupid & campy as time went on, so I stopped watching it.

But of the Movie, and the TV (That I did Watch) I don't recall any Star Wars, Star Trek, or even Battlestar Galactica style space travel going on, as the whole point of a Stargate was to worm hole from one location to another, to avoid the whole need to travel manually from one planet to another.

A proper Elder Scrolls MMORPG would be great , what we have now is a casual cooperative multiplayer game where the lore is completely borked and meaningless pixel war..With 1/2 baked combat.. IMO

The Mistborn universe could be interesting. I really liked the books and their take on magic - allomancy - is pretty cool.

Only thing I think that would hurt such a game is the grim vision of the world. All that Ash, it's a very dark and dreary world, fine for a quick visit whilst you read the books, less enjoyable as a long term home for players.

A few world setting MMO's I would love to see, would be Xanth, really great novel series by Piers Anthony, if anyone has read it.

Dragon Riders of Pern would be another highly beloved IP that could make an Amazing MMO.

Star Wars. I think SWG was ahead of its time for what it wanted to offer, and that if it was made in Modern times with some tweaks and fixes, it would completely change the market.

SWToR is okay but for some reason felt like any typical MMO with a Star Wars skin mod. Just didn't feel unique to me.

Another great one would be a "Girl Genius" mmorpg. (magic, monsters and science!)
Girl Genius is an awsome webcomic done by Professors Phil & Kaja Foglio.

a Girl Genius MMO could be Epic!

We all play as sparks.. which would set the story world. That could be some epic fun right there, and a super cool steam-punk setting.
