Housing is a huge part of RP'ing in MMOs. Some of us like to invest heavily in them as an escape, while others like to create cool places to hang out with friends and guildies. Swords of Legends Online have just taken the covers off housing in their game, and we have your exclusive first look.

It's a great take on housing, and I like that you can essentially "build" your own. Having said that, the game, at least with an hour's worth of play, is extremely story driven and linear.

I found it very constrained. I'm going to wait and see if someone posts videos showing that it actually opens up a bit because otherwise it's just running from quest giver to quest giver killing "3 things."

Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

What did you expect? Its another Asian grinder with no purpose or adventure at all. My impressions are 100% same as yours, this game offers zero innovation.

No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

The housing looks really good in fairness. I have been playing the recent beta and also agree that it feels quite linear so far; it sort of reminds me of FFXIV's main story quests - speak to person, kill that, speak to them again, teleport to another person, teleport back to original person - only with a very overbearing (at times) Chinese language voice over.

All that said, the game plays nice, combat feels fun, the world looks stunning and the music is brilliant. It also seems to have quite a number of systems built into the game, many of which I have yet to scratch the surface of. It so far feels like a game (much like FFXIV) you need to "get into" and from what I have read from those who have played the Chinese version extensively, the endgame is supposedly really quite good and offers solid, challenging PVE content - heres hoping.

I am looking forward to seeing how it does, I think it deserves a shot from those who enjoyed holy trinity style MMO's of the past, and enjoy the aesthetic. I agree it doesn't appear to be breaking new ground, but it certainly seems to retread old ground very nicely, if not better than before in some instances e.g. this style of action combat in a holy trinity mmo?! Fingers crossed it turns out for the best.

I tried the beta, didnt like it at all, my luck I got refund. Only two characters was my cup of tea, tried one of them didnt like at all. The skills, the fight. I dont know if thenrates was increased during beta but seen people onnhigh level just on second day, all they was doing is hangin in the city, jumping, duelling. There is no end game, just collect things like in a mobile game.
Im not disappointed, tought it will be like that. Still way better than bless unleashed only hope I left for this year is Elyon.

The linear story line only last around 20 hours of play time, to get you to the max level, which is level 36 I think. The game starts after you reach the max level, you will have access to more game features. basically the linear story line just an introduction of the game, to help you familiar with the game interface, maps, skills and other mechanisms.

Ok so let's begin my analysis.

    1 It looks really nice.
2 I still want open world gaming and not instancing
3 The big question, how does this tie into the cash shop?

    detailed
1 It looks really nice so long we can do as detailed builds as shown in the video and we don't know if that is so.

2 Being instanced means nobody really enjoys the world with all of the player designs so it ends up as a sort of bummer but yes YOU can enjoy it yourself.

3 If the only way to build a really nice plot/home is to buy items from the cash shop it is a huge fail and something i would not support. If all the stuff is earned in game similar to EQ2 Erolisi day i think it was called then yeah that makes it acceptable/good.

Yes as above poster noted, the GAMEPLAY needs to trump all else, even the mention of end game is not on my agenda or list of needs.I want a robust game to enjoy long term through all levels and not some fast to end game junk.
