This game looks boring! I don't see anything new, just a ripoff of other games like LOTRO, ESO and WOW. I hope it's good, but there's nothing so far that makes me want to spend the money to try it out.

The most entertaining part of New World is watching their attempts to engage with players when all they care about is collecting their hundred+ thousand dollar paychecks. They actually got a voice actor for this video... Anything & everything to convince people they give a crap about them when in reality they could care less. Remember those esporters playing Breakaway on the battleship in Europe? Whoever comes up with all these public engagement ideas should be replaced but they won't be and probably got a raise cause that place is a money siphon bureaucracy not an actual game studio.

This game will likely be another game that frustrates me.There is a lot to like, some nice looking areas,i THINK that temple is not instanced but might be.Nice graphics, some cool looking structures and npc's etc etc.

However i feel it will fall short in many areas.Like overall pets, mounts, content outside a few hubs. How about the water/ships can we build anything in the game?

The pvp hub is what i want from PVE where players can join in and take on a fort of npc's and siege it.Then over time new pve forces attack you back and you have to defend.

I don't think the pvp will work at all.Like those turret areas,if the attacking force just focuses on one at a time they will each fall quickly. How o you actually siege the fort,do you climb the walls or need to break down the gate, how does the defense defend the gate etc etc.

Meh; going to play it due to the lack of better options, but almost all my excitement has been sucked out after their flip flop development.

So ready to get back into this game since the revamp (Forced PvP was removed ect). And judging from some WoW-Mindsets, this game will not be for them.

Don't expect this game to have all the things you want from other games you are used to.

It is it's own game and Amazons FIRST MMO. Try it or don't.

    Time will tell.

I don't think there are going to be any issues with the graphics, it is the gameplay that is in question.

We should reprimand all new model cars for ripping off all cars before them....how dare they use four tires, an engine, and run on gasoline??!?! Seriously dude....it would be impossible at this point to not "ripoff" from the earlier MMOs in some way.

Games have been made since the 1970's how many fresh ideas are left? lol.

You have a new world to explore, new story, pvp, pve and its done on a modern engine.

Just curious, when is a game not a rip off? Like, what is it that requires to be something new? Cause it seems to me that if you compare this to lotro, eso and wow and call this a rip off then all games out there are rip offs.

You do and think what you want, but maybe you should appreciate (or hate) games for what they are and the experience it delivers. Not for what you expect to be different from other games just for the sake of it.

Why would anyone care about proving you wrong?

    Just curious.

If that was true, they would have released the unfinished version at least one and half year ago, as "early access" or some similar crap, surfing on the covid epidemic which blocked so many people at home starving for new games.
But they didn't, and instead decided to report again to finish the game.
Yes, this is where I hold out some hope, they have a track record of saying "this is not good enough, push the launch back". That also means that they are prepared for a long haul if the game does not get the reviews they would like when it comes out.

Amazon has also track record of cancelling their other games when it turns out that the game won't do well. If New World fails at launch, I don't think it'll be an exception.

Well that depends on what you mean by fails at launch, I can't see it getting reviews that bad. But if it limps in at 7.0 I think they will stick with it and improve as they go along.

Looks decent enough to me. It feels like they mightve created an environment where players can actually flourish.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.
