How did they not learn anything? Faction Server rules DISASTER

I spent a bit of time on the Crowfall test server taking a look at the FvFvF server.  It looks like they really didn't learn anything since the last time it was up in Beta.  Just a few of the issues:

  1.  The winning faction will get Rewards, but at least on test you are not faction locked, so you can switch factions and bandwagon to the win
  2. I did not see any resources higher than can be found in the Tutorial God's Reach campaigns...  These servers should bridge the gap between the Tier 6 resources in God's Reach and the Tier 10 in Dregs.  Now maybe I missed the higher ones or they are in a special spot, but if not this is bad.
  3. Categories for the "Win Cards" are just zerg based.  Bring 500 people into the campaign and even if they all suck you will be #1 in most categories.  Those guilds already have the Dregs.
  4. Maps have no natural pinch points.  Just zerg around.
  5. As far as I can tell only Guild members can win these rewards?  I could be wrong so please speak up if solo folks can have win conditions.

I didn't spend a lot of time.  Just an hour or two (it's a test server after all) so if someone has played more and sees something I missed please reply*.

Assuming these servers launch next week on live I will likely hit them and give them a fair shake.  Have a few weeks to kill once the NW Beta ends and it goes live.

*Note if you couldn't complete the 3 hour tutorial and never logged real time on Test no need to reply with any "thoughts" or things you heard from a friend of a friend.

I don't understand why some RvR games allow faction swapping, it is complete bullshit. Anyway those are all good points you bring up, hopefully they will address them before it goes live.

Doesn't matter what they do the people who play and enjoy the game will like it and the people who constantly try to tear CF down will trash it.

IMO the damage has been done with the streamers/content creators who've already persuaded thousands of potential players to not even give the game a chance. Possibly thousands of box sales + VIP subs gone forever because streamers that don't even play the game just wanted to get richer by making videos trashing CF.

    There's a solution for that.

They could pay streamers to play their game, there by showing the world what it is all about.

But, if the game really was any good, wouldn't some streamers play it without any monetary incentive, like I've seen in EVE and other games?

Finally, if the sheeple are going to let the advice of streamers that never have even tried the game influence them, well then I guess those who do the same in gaming forums and reddit sub's can be given a lot more credit for destroying games than originally thought.

Who knew people took the advice of ignorant randos so seriously?

I haven't played it and probably wont but Isn't that the whole point of a test server in the first place? I would have thought that anything they find on the test server that the userbase are unhappy with, they will try and change / balance before they put it live?

Just as an after thought, isn't it possible that they turned off the faction locking on the test server, to enable them to have balanced teams on the test server, given that the people playing on the test server is smaller than they envisage when they go live?

Not this Test server.  Almost all the test content goes straight through to Live.  Almost all of these issues were pointed out to them when there was a Faction server in the Beta, yet they made no changes between now and then.
    But we will see.
Warnings have been issued, far more eloquently than mine on their forums.  Let's see what they put on live in a week.

A streamer do something for sake of it.. Hummmm sounds sketchy.

Anyway.. yes.. Streamers, Redditors, Twitter, any and all means of social media do play a role in influencing fellow gamers on what games to buy. This is how trends sometimes just pop out of left field, to use an example, a game like Among Us, after 3 years on the market, as near invisible and unknown, suddenly explodes in popularity and skyrockets to popular culture icon.

But really, just like reviews of a product, that people look into before buying a product, no one wants to get cheated, or get suckered into getting an inferior product, so, they look to reviews and others who have already bought/used the product, to get a feel for it's quality, use, etc, before they invest into it, and the more trusted the reviewer, the more impact they will have on the market.

Like for example, my father used to get Consumer Reports, for that very reason, paid their subscription fee to get that monthly report, and would not buy things unless they did a report on it.

So while social media does play a role, unless someone here was a renowned streamer, like PewDiePie for example, they alone will not have much of an impact. Like that one nut that is screaming the place sucks, amid an endless stream of 5 star reviews and celebrity recommendations, is not going to make a dent. However, if the place gets a constant stream of 2 star reviews, that will hurt it's ability to pull in new clientele.

So while a single person, Unless they already have a huge amount of clout, will not make any dent, people enmass will.

Hey folks let’s stay on target here.
If you have a contribution on the Faction servers let’s hear it.
