Black screen bug is serious

I keep getting the black screen bug, where suddenly the screen freezes, and then the screen goes black. You can't recover from that and have to kill the game.

I've noticed that every character that this happens to, is ruined forever. If I log out and log back in, that character will load to a black screen. It's hard to get a character to level 10 before this happens. I can create a new character, but that one is gone forever. Changing resolutions doesn't help.

I've got an AMD 5950X, 32G of ram, and an AMD 6800XT graphics card. If I set all options at "very high", I can only run resolution at 2516x1440 before the graphics card starts to overheat. At full 4K, it got over 105C before I turned it down. Trying to run it at full settings would fry it.

Not sure if these two things are related. The black screen bug means I can't get past lvl 10.
