Gaming earbuds advice

treyu86treyu86 Member UncommonPosts: 270
Hello,

I was thinking about buying a pair of earbuds for my gaming (mainly PC). I already have a nice gaming headset (Sharkoon xtatic pro 5.1), but I have been using glasses for some months now and I really get pain on my head and ears with them. Anyone uses earbuds for gaming? I know it will probably be a great loss in sound quality and experiencw versus my real 5.1 headset, but that is why I post this, in case anyone has experience on these devices (if the answer is to avoid earbuds for gaming, just say it :) )

Noise cancelation would be nice, and I think I prefer 3,5 connection than bluetooth. Microphone integrated also needed

thanks in advance!

Since you didn't mention a budget, I was going to consider you the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus (they're discounted on the german amazon) link: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Samsung-Galaxy-Bluetooth-Headset-White/dp/B084WMRTQN/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=samsung+galaxy+buds+plus&qid=1629215702&sr=8-3

They don't have noise cancelling, but they seal quite a lot of noise and I barely hear anything. For the price, they're pretty good and last 11 hours + an additional 11 hours from the case.

Thanks! Yea i did not say budget, I guess around max 100$ but it can be more. What I was looking for is for any advice regarding sound quality for gaming from people using them, as I have zero experience! thanks again

All the gamers I know use over-the-ear cans for gaming. Not sure I know of many using ear buds. I'm sure it's done, I just don't have any experience.

I have a cheap pair of Anker Soundcore P2 wireless earbuds. They were like.. $40? They do not have ANC, but have a pretty good mic, decent sound and swappable silicon tips so they do pretty well at blocking out noise. They are good enough I use them outdoors with power equipment (chainsaws, etc) instead of ear plugs (I do not advise that, I am not a doctor, YMMV, use at your own risk, yada yada), and take a lot of calls and such on them when I'm out and about. I've never tried them gaming, but I am tempted to, since my son destroyed another (my) set of Corsair gaming headphones and he has a bad habit of cranking the sound up and yelling/giggling in the mic while watching idiot Tiktok videos with his friends.

But they are wireless - so maybe not exactly what you are looking for. I get about 8ish hours from a full charge, and the case can usually recharge them back up 4-5 times before it needs to be plugged in.

For $40 - they are pretty good. Not quite throw-away disposable, and they won't outdoor Airpods in terms of quality, but they strike a nice middle ground without breaking the bank.

I’ve used standard apple earpods as my main headphones for years. I use them on pc and playstation. They always sounded fine to me. I use an amazon audio extension cable to give them plenty of length for connecting to my computer. But you will need a separate mic or switch to a headset for speaking to others.

I wear glasses and there are many full headsets that cause no discomfort with glasses. My Xbox Wireless Headset are super comfy with glasses and great for gaming. I also love my Audio Technical ATH ANC700BT. Has great reviews with glasses. Just look for headsets that have reviews with glasses. Earbuds for long play sessions do start to cause ear discomfort.
