None of these things _need_ to change. Some are QoL improvements. Some will partially ruin the game. Shorter Recall to Inn cooldown would be nice _if we earned it somehow._ But it doesn't bother me much because it takes me an hour to do the 2-5+ "boring" quests that I picked up before leaving town. If I still have time once those quests are done I just go exploring or gathering crafting materials. Removing player collision is a nice idea, perhaps, in other games but this one is going as physically real as it can. So in that context it doesn't bother me except when it results in me getting killed because I can't get past a group of NPC mobs (and they kill me because I'm too dumb to run away).

Player mail in game would be nice, but I don't miss it. Sharing quests would be nice, but I don't miss it (because questing in this game isn't story centric like WoW). People complaining that the questing sucks... sure, if you were playing a story centric game the questing would be bad. But the game is "people from the old world (Europe) are going to a New World that is an island never encountered in r/l history and that is infected with 'corruption' and filled with an alternate fantasy magic system that is so far fairly unique in the mmorpg genre." It's not WoW. It's not a standard fantasy setting. Why would you want to make it the same as other games? If you want that, just go play those games.
To me the complaining about boring quests is a symptom of a lack of imagination and an inability to immerse oneself in the game. Real life is a grind. Why would you expect a "roleplaying" game to be void of hardship or anything elemental/basic to life? The idea is to sit back and relax and enjoy this new world you find yourself in and make the best of it that you can--not to do everything you can to "min-max" and theorycraft the life out of the game so you can meaninglessly be #1 or as close to #1 as you possibly can. If you want that go work the leaderboards in FPS games and leave the MMORPG genre alone because it doesn't suit you.

No, the real problem with NW at the moment I write this is that both Lumberyard (the graphics engine NW is built from) and New World itself need a LOT of optimization, particularly in the networking dept. The lag in NW for a game a big as it is intended to be and involving as many players as the game seems to be shooting for, is inexcusable. And adding more servers, while helping, seems like it's putting a Band-Aid on a long deep cut that needs stitches and wrapping to protect it and help it heal. In other words, for me they need to dedicate more and better devs to the back end exclusively until they eliminate the queues and the lag from the game. They need to increase the max load ability for each individual server. They need to implement transfer from server to server without cost for the next six months while they work on stabilizing and optimizing the networking structures of the game and the graphic engine it's built from.

For me the big thing is key bindings. It sucks that you cant use your mouse to move. It takes me back to Diablo. UGH.
Let me use mouse buttons to move around and keyboard for other things. PLEASE.

Worst changes that you can think of! It's clear that you have not thought about the impact of these changes on economy and gameplay.

Definitely agreeing on the PVE Collision. I'm trying to tank and keep getting pushed out of the aoe heals.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.

Are there action games that allow one to use the mouse to move? I don't think Tera or Black Desert had that. The Souls games don't have it as far as I can see.

So you would want a key for attack, a key to block and how would you use the mouse to move? Point and click?

I'll be the outlier and say, for me, other than mail (and I'd love it if it was a player quest for players to deliver the mail) I'd prefer to have a better character creator.

Not sure why western developers can't or won't do this but every western game has ugly character options.

I had to resort to using the randomizer to get some semblance of a good character look. And it was female as I couldn't get a decent male look. And that was after a long time of hitting the random button.
    Reminds me of this joke:

What really needs to be addressed is the abhorrent toxicity of the global chat which goes on ceaselessly 24/7, like a domino effect which causes others to get involved and therefore ADD to the toxic environment. I know that every MMO has its fair share of toxicity in chat, but having played most of the big MMOs over the past 25 years, the toxic nature of the comments in New World's chat really pushes the envelope far beyond what I ever expected from an MMO. Makes Barrens chat seem like something out of a PG rated movie.

This is due to two things. Today's society is a lot more toxic than 10 or 20 years ago. People speak in memes only and memes are by nature sarcastic or toxic.

The second thing is that PvP always breeds toxicity. It's a bunch of mostly young beta males with fragile egos trying their best to be alpha in the safety of their gaming rooms. Try other PvP games and you will see what I mean. The MOBA genre (League of Legends, DotA2) is notorious for its toxicity.
