New World is not PVP focused (it was before public testing) - it is an optional activity in this game and nothing more. The game is not entirely social either. In order to create a group, you spend 30-60 minutes spamming for other players, which wastes time and isn't social. A group finder or a party board would help players to group more quickly to make friends and complete content together.
Problem with modern day group finder systems is that in most games groups are too easy to get, and folks generally just jump in, rush through the content, then leave group. Folks don't really make friends anymore, or get to know anyone that way. 99% of the time you will
never see or group with the same people ever again. Doesn't help either that modern day content are faster paced, so you will almost never see people stop to chat. You'd be lucky to even get a 'ello nowadays.
And no, I'm not saying the old ways of LFG channels and spam is the way to go - gamers have evolved past that nowadays, but back in the day, especially before cross-zone and cross-server groupings you used to see the same people on your server spamming LFG messages, and you often end up grouping with these same people time and again because of that, and you get to know them over time. Groups were harder to come by back then too, so folks were less inclined to be a**holes, least they risk being blacklisted, and folks were also less likely to drop out of groups or kick people after the smallest of setbacks for that same reason. "Friends" made back then were more solid, the bonds longer lasting IMO.
