I wasn't particularly interested when it was Saga of Lucimia. The trailer and the game play video haven't done much to impress me with Embers Adrift.
A game with an emphasis on exploration is going to have to have a huge world. Even so, it will probably be the domain of spoiler and map sites. That's a bad thing to me.
I'm okay with the combat being slow and turn-based. Some would say I'm slow and turn-based. The need for resting is the feature that allowed you to know your group members in the original MMORPGs. The question is how balanced are action-recovery activities? That can't be really gleaned from highly-edited videos.
What irritates me most is the cinematic changes of camera angle. It requires special effort and mirrors to see my own backside when I'm walking, and I've never found a reasonable method (or reason) to see my full body profile. Give me my first-person view. Let me (only) see where I'm going, and if something jumps me from behind, I'll figure it out.
It gives me a low fantasy feel. At least, limited spell effects. That I do like.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
Comments
It was Saga of Lucimia, not Lucina.
