The world looks amazing, like a TES game I would love to explore. Too bad it is going to be a toxic shitfest of a game where if you aren't rolling with a bunch of friends you'll be ganked to oblivion.
I see what you did there..... clever, clever.
I am actually l tempted to try the game, still got tons of games waiting to be played though so if the game is still alive in roughly two years time I might actually buy and play it.

Actually was not intentional but I did realize I did it after the fact lol.
I just can't see this working out in the long run. With the typical PvP game there's minimal, to no long progression ark, beyond getting better, and climbing the ranks, but in a game like this, all your work goes into developing your characters over the long term, which less people are into. It will likely be a huge grind, you can always be attacked most everywhere, and people love to go around ganking people that are much weaker than them in games, rather than looking for an even fight.
Now on top of all that, you also want to let players take the stuff of those they kill? Despite what those into such a thing love to claim, the market for such a game would be really tiny, and smaller still since there's a few other such games already, including the first version of the game. Unless the companies behind it are ok with the small profits they'd get from the game, they'll likely pack it up, and shut the game down within a few years.
Oh look! There he is! The stereotype guy that complains in a full loot PVP game about the PVP. Every PVP game thread must have one of those. Now the thread is complete.
Funny, all I read was facts with the exception of the last sentence. A game like this can survive, but it will never thrive. I want to love a game like this, but it is just too painful to keep up with. If you aren't at the top of the food chain you're doomed to be ganked repeatedly by no-lifers who live in their parent's basement.
Did anyone address in the stream the performance for North American players? I heard it is abysmal and you're going to get your ass whooped by Euro players due to ping alone.

Not really. Heinrich was giving away 10 copies of Geforce Now keys (IMHO that would probably make it worse?), and talked about some kind of alliance with a VPN that they were working on to reduce hops (but of course you'd have to pay for that VPN)

He was talking partnership with ExitLag. Also there is supposed to be some sort of ping normalization.

There is ping normalization... aka slow down all skill reaction times so that for players, not near the UK server, are not gimp. (US and Australia).
Unfortunately it makes combat "feel" sluggish.
Personally, I want to play with EU players (as a US player)... so there is a needed tradeoff.
PS EU players seem to be more PVP MMORPG fans than US.. just imo.
..Not a second time without proof its a complete game this time.
Problem is by the time that happens you'll be coming in as fresh meat to the slaughter. That's these games always fail, it is impossible to keep the population up with new players.
You will be fresh meat even if joined on day one unless part of a large clan, no different than atlas or ark or any other survival game, except here you get to pay a monthly sub instead of a one time box fee.
I'm tempted Mortal Online 2.. Almost got me... almost.
I am feeling the same way, kinda want to play it..... also worried that it won't go any further than what it is right now.
Star vault doggedly continued to develop MO1 (not very well from what I've read) so my guess is that they'll do the same here. Assuming they have financial resources.
There was a huge jump in players in January 2021 from 97k to 244k in Rust. I presume that was a release of some content. Pretty good numbers for the type of game it is but I have always believed that losing gear is fine as long as it is easily replaceable.
