Garrick got started in Mortal Online 2 in the waning days of the beta and is pretty excited to try his hand at the full launch later today. Here are his initial thoughts from the experience in our first review-in-progress of Mortal Online 2.

"There were times that the griefing did get overly vexing. When all you want to do is mind your own business and kill mobs, it can be disrupting to encounter another player - or whole groups of players sometimes - that just want to murder everyone in sight. "

This is why its such a huge deal that they launched without the territory control and sieging etc... There is nothing really to do other than develop your character and kill each other. And even if you just want to do do some PvE, there will always be utterly bored roaming groups that want to hunt you for prey. Now, some of that will ALWAYS exist in FFA PvP games, but it's going to be magnified by once again launching in an incomplete state, lacking the end game territory control.

I think the most telling statement is the discussion from yesterday's live stream. When asked what population would make the game seem too crowded:

"People will be too busy murdering each other for it to feel over populated"

Anyhow, looking forward to your full review and I'll give it a shot when it opens free trials.

Dear writer, if you are not in a guild/alliance or grouped... you are not playing in a way that will be very fun.  You can go solo, but you can die a lot doing that and your enjoyment will be small.

Yes, not everyone RPKs (random player kills)... in fact their are large guilds that claim (not mechanically yet, but in role play) large areas of land... they are specifically anti-rpk (they actually hunt rpk'rs and will return your gear).

I suggest to the writer and players that want a better experience for solo... go to the official forums>> guild and politics section.  Start in a city/region controlled by large guild alliances of Anti-RPK.  Join them even, but at a minimum you can solo a lot more safely in those areas (unless you commit RPK yourself  :D ).

Also, you can get to know the guild names in order to report RPKrs in their region (they will mercilessly hunt them down... it's actually fun content for them B) ).

100% agree, I hope they implement territory very fast or they will lose players in a few weeks.  Also, I didn't read... did they implement the fully fleshed out reputation system?

Some of these wouldn't be as pressing issue if it was BOP... but this is Box + Monthly sub model.

It's kinda foolish they have done the same again as with MO1.
Back then, there were a lot of refunds needed due to the not launching as advertised.

Well, I might try it in a year or so, that's probably the time they need to implement the basic gameplay that the game should have launched with.
Also, might be B2P/F2P by then.

In another thread you mention Hendrik said the server can scale up to 100K players...

Now reports of server queues with just 7K trying to play. :o

A queue is in place, when too many ppl try to login at the same time. Not necessarily when the server is full.

Just an fyi, but the servers are located in somewhere in Europe. There are no NA or Asian servers. As a consequence, I've heard the ping for anyone outside of Europe might not be great.

This individual does NOT play MO2 to attempt a proper review. Bias comment for an inclusive community.

My first short review is that Mortal Online 2 has an insane development team that drives energy in creating an immersive 1st Person Sand Box MMORPG. Super Hardcore if you are into Reputation, Faction and Economy Building. Ask more questions about the game or try it out but please stop commenting to kill a community because you can't finger paint your miniatures. Jelly Trolls NOT invited! This is not a Chad Party!!

So you are alleging that the MMORPG.com reviewer is a "Jelly Troll"?
    OK...

I must admit that I am kind of disappointed that you never came through with that key to try the game that you said you'd ask your friend Heinrich about.

But good luck.  Will be interesting to see how it shakes out over the next few weeks.

You aren't MMORPG Slapshot1188 and as a matter of fact you have been flagged several times for what you are attempting to do. I would carefully choose your moves before disrupting without best business practices. You have been flagged again and warned verbally now. Everyone else enjoy the thread and game.

Right?! At least test the game and NOT be the first to throw that trash Slapshot1188. I wonder how many games this guy jacked up for the economy of MMORPG because of booboo work ethics over romance.

Please explain.  Is there something about what I posted in this thread that is factually incorrect?  If so, just point it out and I'll adjust if needed.

On Jan 9th.. just 2 weeks ago you said this:  "Yes please, bring the reviews. It's a welcoming perspective to have from every gamer globally."

Now you just saw a brief pre-review, do not like it, and start yelling that the author is biased and apparently.. a Jelly Troll.

You would be better served by explaining WHY you have a differing opinion to the reviewer, giving specific examples... but.. I guess carry on however you see fit.

PS: Here is where you said you would ask "your friend" Heinrich for a key for me

L...Let's stick to the actual thread and the review instead of slinging dirt, peeps.

Thanks for reading the review in progress though - the PvP aspect of this is something our reviewer is going to be looking at closely throughout his time with the MMO in the coming days and weeks. We take our time with these, in case you haven't noticed that our reviews tend to release weeks after launch instead of days like other sites, in order to do our due diligence here.

I've only just started playing MO2 myself right before the beta servers went down and I'm looking forward to jumping in even more for coverage/editorials outside our regular review. What concerns me is what many in this thread have echoed: RPK for RPKing-sake isn't necessarily going to translate to a robust population over the coming weeks and months. The territory control aspect that gives the open-world PvP its structure is really needed to, well, give it structure I feel. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds in the coming weeks for sure.

There is a chronological log for the higher echelon so no explanation needed. Gotta be business savvy. On another note -

Reputation and Faction are an attributed skill and style you possess in the Game of Mortal Online 2. Lots of fun, these guys are insane and dedicated towards bring creativity. Discover the Mysteries

Awesome, can your reviewer (and yourself) get guilded up with a semi decent guild?  I think that is where this game may shine for us PVP MMORPG enthusiasts.

    Just a suggestion/request.

This 1st person MMORPG is a whole different experience from being horrible. As a matter of fact Joining the discord you can catch players working together logging in building an MMORPG economy as we speak on this FLOOR.

When I was playing Mordau, its community was dreaming of a MMO with a similar combat system...

MO2 unique constamment creativity brings a brilliant degree of 1st person immersive play style to MMORPG Community. They have perfected a reputation, faction and criminal system for all player base to enjoy in community while crafting and PvP alike.

I disagree partly.  They've said that there were going to be missing systems to start.  So they aren't advertising a complete game at launch.

From my understanding they are purposely limiting it to 7600 and are going to increase it once things get going.  Not a bad tactic at launch imo

This didn't read like a review to me.  More of a summary with a few thoughts thrown in.  I would like a bit more analysis in the next review.  On the flip side, I could be off the mark

I have just JuST started playing, so can't really review.  I will say that I'll be at the zombies for a bit to get used to combat.
