One thing Star Citizen definitely did was increase the respect/development of other space games. Once other companies saw the money that was available for a dreamscape, they started working on their own space games. Many of which have delivered actual finished games.
But no amount of obsessive love can spackle over CIG's wonky project management.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
Eh, at least SC has playable elements that people can make use of during development. That's more and better than the nothing many got from games they crowdfunded.

I agree. It also has the Fly Free events where folks can look for themselves before buying.
That said, I’ve never been a fan of the “ The other guys are worse” defense. And also, folks that signed up for Squadron 42 have not had any second of a playable element to this date. Not one. No ETA either.

And if they can't have find their fun, no one else can.
What, exactly, about anyone's posts here, fan or critic, would affect how much fun you have with the game?
You guys really should take the hint and let Lahnmir handle the community outreach here. You do the game no favors with anyone here. He's honest about the current state, and as such he's bought himself cred with which to challenge misinformation and update us if the game really does seem to be coming together sometime in the future.
He probably launches the game without deleting his USER folder, then complains about the frames and graphical issues when he has no idea that its basically mandatory to reset the USER folder. I would say this is honest but ignorant.

They really remind me of Tesla fanboys; defending something with obvious flaws in workmanship. We know Elon pays some trolls to defend his brands on places like Twitter; I see pretty much the same thing here.
"It runs fine... what are you talking about? It must just be you, because I see no problem."

Except that I did, and edited and added files to turn off certain features through several guides, and messed with background applications, and overclocking, and literally spent hours tuning and tweaking every trick and setting. Weird assumption that I am some kind of SC newb, honest but ignorant. Next you are going to tell me I need to install it on an SSD.

You probably did it once and then never again. You need to do it each time the game has a major patch.
I don’t know how to respond to this without sounding insulting, so I will just refrain from answering.

IDK what to tell you. I had problems and reset my user folder, lowered my graphics, and the game runs great. Its not always this way, but 3.17 has been amazing. Have you played it or are you using an old patch as a reference for your terrible experience with star citizen? It can only be a few things, lying, a much worse computer than mine, or an outdated experience based off playing a previous patch version.
My biggest complaint about star citizen is Desynch, not frame rates.

Although plenty of people have absolutely horrible performance in SC let me quote myself:
I wish man, over the last twelve months the game became worse and worse performance wise for me and is now pretty much unplayable. My PC is starting to show its age so I am most certainly not putting all the blame on SC, for some performance increased with each update, I had the opposite experience. Just had my third daughter and making a career move and busy with investments so a new rig has to wait. And so does SC.
Thats it, after an ungodly amount of tweaking and editing that was my conclusion. So you can safely stop with the, not so subtle, shade you have been throwing at me with every response, I am not attacking your precious.

Considering CIG's own telemetry shows the highest rated user PCs averaging under 60 FPS in 3.17, I would say it's not Lahnmir who is being dishonest here.

ya this would include people afking on busy stations. There is many places where I get around 90fps. 60 fps with the games graphical nature is amazing imo.
lahnmir also failed to tell me whether he played 3.17 with a wiped user folder...

I didn’t fail to mention anything because I don’t owe you anything, you also didn’t ask since you didn’t feel the urge to move the goalposts yet until now. But with CIGs own tools proving you wrong you are now stooping one level lower by discrediting the messenger because you don’t like the message. Come on and just call me a liar while Citizensplaining CIGs own data away, Is this how exposed people behave?
A wiped user folder, I am dozens of hours beyond that step one solution which literally everyone knows about. Get out of here man.

Fair point, I did actually miss that question. And although I think I have given you the answers through my posts indirectly I will be a bit more direct.
The User data folders has always been my first trick, then every setting, overclocking, background applications, all the way to registry edits and even modifying ingame settings through added files that the actual game won’t let you. I have been doing all this since 3.13 which released May 2021 and then all the way through 3.14, 3.15 and 3.16. For reference, I believe it was 3.12 that actually ran the best for me, even better then versions before it. We are now a year, and an ungodly amount of hours of me trying to run the game at an acceptable state, further.
I also told you I gave up a short while ago, so no, I didn’t try 3.17 when it released March this year. Not only because after ten months of trying I thought ‘enough is enough’ but because my conclusion after that horrendous trial simply was that my computer was getting older and SC requires the most current hardware. I have also already posted this, even explicitly stating that I do not put the blame on CIG for that.
So, unless you are now trying to tell me with a straight face that 3.17 is an absolute miracle patch that doubles performance (I get about 15 fps on average on a GTX 1070 8gb, 32gb RAM, I7 on any setting or resolution) we are done talking.
So, did I manage to meet the requirements of being allowed to voice critique or are there some more arbitrary hoops I have to jump through before what I say will be considered ‘legit’ by the SC overlords?
/Cheers, Lahnmir
