The Lost Ark Chronicles

Hello you awesome folks!

Due to popular demand, well, it was only @Scot, yeah, anyways, I have decided to do a Lost Ark dear diary series. Forgive any shortcomings in advance as I am a bit retarded. I'll try my best to be precise and specific. 

I am not able to login yet, there is a patch and I can't download it, thanks Steam. So while we wait, I thought maybe I should share some of the lore.


A Saga of Light

I. The Dawning Age
The god Regulus brings order and light to balance the darkness of chaos and creates worlds to embody each: Arkesia and Petrania. The order of the light is powered by the Ark, split seven ways for seven gods and spread across Arkesia. When the two worlds nearly destroy each other the Guardians are created to restore peace.

II. Rule of Darkness
While Arkesia prospers with the power of the Ark, Petrania embraces chaos until Kazeros, Lord of the Abyss, emerges to establish a dark order. He creates the Red Moon to imitate the sun, kills off most of the other demons, and forms an army of demon legions. The prophecy of another rift is nigh.

III. Eon of War
In the absence of gods, the Sacrian Order seeks the collective power of all seven pieces of the Ark. This triggers a world war that awakens the Guardians. The Guardians restore peace and punish the Order and their allies, but not before a dimensional rift opens up. Kazeros invades Arkesia through the rift and establishes a reign of chaos. Finally, the Ark is used to close the rift and imprison Kazeros beneath a volcano. The seven pieces of the Ark are spread across the seven continents again as peace returns to a battered world.

IV. Epoch of Exploration
In the wake of Kazeros' catastrophic invasion, the world rebuilds with new factions and nations, led by the glorious war hero Luterra. The split Ark leaves behind a scarce and powerful mineral: Arkesium, quickly hoarded and used for weaponry. But, mostly, peace reigns for nearly 500 years.

V. Age of Innovation
The current peace in Arkesia is threatened by the ancient and long-forgotten evil of chaos. The volcano imprisoning the most dangerous enemy this world has ever known, Kazeros, is about to erupt. Begin your adventure in a world on the brink of war...

    I swear this IP borrows from about a half a dozen others.

    Expected to see Thanos in there somewhere, just need a glove for those ark gems.

    Seems the patch issue is resolved, Steam is now unpacking the game.

    Played through prologue on a Gunlancer, having fun with the combat so far.  Story seems pretty straightforward, the art is appealing, and some of the landscapes are especially beautiful.  Will have to dig deeper after work!

    The review MMORPG.com did was mixed but a 7.0 is not bad, quite good really. Keep us updated when you can!

    Didn't the message pop up saying if you delete you lose stuff on that character? I got worried it had something to do with the founder's pack.

    Yes I am deleting them on purpose because the chosen name doesn't match my shoes.

    I've held off from doing so until I'm sure I want my Gunlancer to be my main.

    That's funny AF , I like the Rabbit better tho (altho I dont like pets at all) it's hard to pass up 5% health and 10% crit rate

    Rewards are Roster-bind. Aren't they?
    Here's the most definitive short summary, but not published on official source that I can find.

    "the skins / mounts / pets are bound to the server you choose to use them on. mounts + pets are account-wide in the server so if you use them on 1 character you’ll be able to also use them on any new character you create.

    Same for the skins that you get that aren’t from the founder pack. you can put them in your account warehouse and pick them up on any class that can use the skin on it. but switching servers won’t let you see them cause whatever you get on 1 server stays in that server."

    So once opened founders packs are locked to a single server, account wide for everything but the unique skins the Platinum packs gave, those are one skin per account, to apply only only one character.

    Not sure if other packages had unique skins or not.

    We are behind you mate. For 3 years I played this game on Korean servers and Russian servers and to this day I had no idea what the hell was going on.

    I just mouse click from the first time that G key appeared at the tome bit in the beginning.

    Just had my first world boss encounter. Took about 5 minutes or something, decent loot, got like 4 upgrades and a couple of cards. Make sure when you see a world boss announce your Channel in the Area chat (Your channel is displayed on top-right above the mini-map) and pay attention to the Area chat if you'd like to hunt word bosses. Kyleran was happy with the loot as well.

    Turned off the Founder's pack's skins. Rather see the gear that I have earned.

    Fortunately I immediately claimed all items on the character I won’t be playing…. Sigh.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer

    I just logged in and was able to transfer all Silver Bundle content to another character through the Roster Storage which is available at the Storage Keep NPC. So no stress for those claiming it on a wrong character.

    Edit: You can not transfer the content of the chests you get with the bundles, just the unopened chests. So think twice for opening them.
