Necromancer: Pet death - is it a timer or when the necro dies?

Kids and I are looking to play Age of Conan and one of my kids likes pet classes. Do the summoned pets stay until the necro dies/dismisses them, or are they on a timer?

-  FPS Quiz - how well do you know your shooters?

    They'll stay around until the necro dies or dismisses them.

    They also die when the necro zones (even just go inside a place counts, anything with a loading screen), so if you play together, maybe as an agreement let the kid with necro zone the last from the group...
    Otherwise you'll see a bunch of dying pets all the time :) And their screams are annoying.

    At a time, when the servers were more crowded it was common courtesy to dismiss pets in towns for the same reason, everyone around hear the screams and see the dead pets until they despawn, while the necro notices nothing of it.

    TYVM for the replies.

    My kids made Necros and they're really enjoying AoC. It's interesting how much harder the older MMOs are. My 8-year old took a while to get used to it. I found the comment "You shouldn't be allowed to die this early in the game" (he was level 12) amusing.
