Boycotting Russian games.

The United States buys hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil from Russia every month. We have not stopped even with the Ukraine war. So you can virtue signal all you want by not gaming and pouring out vodka but it is meaningless.

Really, if you boycott Russian games, for the same reasons, you should boycott US games too.

Russia doesn’t make many interesting games though. At least, I’ve never been interested in one, except Tetris.

I have so many nice memories from Americans. US staged a coup in my country and toppled a democratic government to control our oil. Shot down a commercial airplane during a war that US was neutral to force ceasefire. Killed an innocent friend of mine in a drone strike who was a doctor who went back to his country to help his people, inside a school that was turned into an emergency medical aid center. I can write pages. But these three should suffice to know where I'm coming from. 

In my entire life I have never hated any Americans for it. Never wanted anyone to be hurt. Heck I even donated to the US veterans a couple of times because I don't blame them. They too are the victims of politicians in my opinion. I don't even blame the people who support those politicians because the world isn't black and white. 

What I'm going to do is to buy every Russian game that I currently don't own on PSN. I also outsource some work to a Russian company from time to time, I don't have anything for them to do right now but I'm going to make a large advanced payment since they only work for clients from UK and I guess they have lost a lot if not all of their clients. 

It is funny that everything seems to be fair game here unless you are talking about P2E games or something. That gets banned on the clock. 

As I said before, I mind the hypocrisy above everything else. And the sheer amount of it that I'm reading here has made me not want to be a part of this community anymore. I understand it doesn't mean anything, but it means something for me. Enjoy spreading your hate.

The problem most people only have Western views of things. Ukraine is a white European country and wow here comes the outrage.  Some country in Africa/Middle East gets rolled in and nobody blinks an eye. 

Western Countries have been using the world outside the eyes of it's people as playgrounds for decades. You didn't see boycotts of the Alliance that invaded Iraq on flimsy if even if true premise. Biden voted for that war that killed millions directly and indirectly. Now he's self righteous.

But yes fuck the Russian government. Fuck most governments.

Some Russian players of Elden Ring got booted from the game lately, game was removed from their lib and they got a refund apparantly.

Seems like those financial sanctions against Russian banks and the like are taking effect even in steam as steam is probably unable to get the money they are owed for the game purchase.

Oh yeah, definitely what happened to those gamers.  Steam can't do business with Russians since the banks are locking them all out.

Alexey Pajitnov (the creator of Tetris) didn't actually make any money off of Tetris until 1996.  When he originally created the game in 1984 in the Soviet Union, individuals weren't allowed to make money like that as everything was officially owned by the communist government.

He moved to the United States in 1991, so today, he's an American, and the Russian government doesn't still make money off of him.  Boycotting all people and things that are ethnically Russian would be stupid.
