I mean, i get that you cant ever convince everyone, but I am at a total loss what even begins to be P2W about this game. Im having fun, completing all current content (even before the patch), I am Tier3 no problem, and like Frodo said, havent spent a dime. I am also swimming in almost 20k gold, just from playing the game. I do have a couple alts, but using them just for dailys, not putting any effort into them at all.

Some games I see the P2W immediately, especially any game with open world PVP. I have looked through the shop and I am just not seeing it here? What am I missing?

I don't know how you guys do it. I don't have the time to do more than my dungeons and dailies and maybe one or two side things max a day. I've been plugging away and just finished 560 today. I'm still not totally sure what the real benefits are to a lot of the activities even. Is farming on your land just to burn labor when you can't get out? No idea why I would want to do it. I bought some packs, but other than buying that cheap crystal pack and a pinata mount, I haven't used the store yet because I feel like I'm going to need it later, but I don't know what for...

I wish I was good at games.

I preorded and spent like $20 on crystals. I can see how people would spend big $$ on the game, but i think it works as F2P. I'm only at like 580 i think i only have one T1 content thing to do as far as raids / dungeons. I have Pugged everything so far. The necromancy dungeon was the worst so far. Took us severance tries on that one. The final abysmal dungeon we cleared in 3 tries

I think that at it's core, if you play this game past a certain point you will realize that the P2W element is pretty pointless. There is no reason to really pay to get ahead in ilvl cause it doesn't really do anything for you. OTOH I think it would be disingenuous to say it is completely 100% not P2W. For me P2W is a sliding scale and this game is like a 2/10 on that scale. As long as I never feel pressured to pay money to enjoy the game I will have a great time. I have put about 300 hours into the game so far and only paid the founder's pack (15$ one). I also have 2 characters in t3 and 3 in t2.

Spending money to get higher ilvl, especially right now is actually a huge waste of money.

Yeah I'd say its definitely pay to progress faster and there are still ways to get stuff in the cash shop as a completely f2p.

Just remember, nothing is free to play.
If you play for free, it just means someone else is paying for you.

I pretty much agree with your sentiment, but there have been times I've been a little bothered knowing that wallet warriors could really shortcut the honing grind.  But long term it doesn't matter.

I don't really have issues with people refusing to play, or quitting, the game due to these systems though.  But for me, there aren't better alternatives out there as POE is bloated and the combat isn't nearly as smooth or fun for me.  D3 is fun for a weekend at launch.  Last Epoch is still too far out for me to commit time to now.

The relaxing of the mechanics is a welcome change. Only because now I can pug more easily, some of the people playing just had 0 clue what they were doing...

On the P2W front, as futile as weighing in may be, just remember you can get the purple crystals (The ones you pay real money for) by exchanging gold and Royal Crystals. Even if you play it F2P, you can still use Mari's Secret Shop (The "P2W" element for honing).

I wish I was good at games.

Getting to 600 was the most frustrating for me too. After you hit 600 you can instantly go to 802 by spending 50g in the AH. I wouldnt recommend going to Yorn with 600 gear because it will take you longer to clear.

As for getting to 600 you have to do the islands that give you mats. I had thought i done them all but i missed 2 Waverunner and Glacier isle, the latter having a ton of mats. You get the quest to go to Glacier isle from Peyto.
