Despite all its problems I really do like the game. And its the only Korean made MMO I've ever liked. The biggest hurdle it had to cross with me was my very wrong expectations about what the game was and that was entirely my fault. I did no research on it other than a video clip or too and assumed it was an ARPG in line with POE or Diablo or Grim Dawn. It was none of that. It is a very rich and very deep mmo, with a ton to do, and also happened to blend the ARPG playstyle in with it in combat. That hybrid style of play wrapped in a full on mmo shocked me how much I enjoyed it.

What do you consider players? The value in DB that says how many accounts there are currently registered? Cause if that's so we have a very big problem here.
There are currently more bots than active players online. Who am I to say this? No one, you can see by yourself, just go to Lost Ark Forums or get inside the game between Luterra and Vern MSQ, just chill around any MSQ NPC for around 5 minutes and start counting the bots with speed hack. Don't forget to run +20 channels available in those main city's. Then you can do the same in Feiton to Punika to see how many real players there are. Now compare the numbers and be honest with yourself.
I love the game but Amazon needs to stop scamming players and start adressing the problems. You've been cheated in New World, you're being cheated again in Lost Ark.

Just curious, how do the bots impact you, in some negative fashion.

I've not noticed them, no one has run by me using a speed hack, but even if they did, why would I care?

To say there are more bots than real players is a huge exaggeration. The overall figures may be inflated by some bots but as Kyleran says they are fairly rare. I've only come across them in game on a few occasions. The gold selling chat messages are a different matter and very common of course but I generally find them when I first login to the game. I report them immediately, which also blocks them and rarely see any more even after a couple of hours of play.

Dude the game hits 800-900k players daily and you are over here saying they are mostly bots. Give it a rest bro. Let the game be a success. Even if you don't like it, you should be happy that a big new MMO has released to great success. This is good for everyone. There are plenty of bots for sure, but it is not any worse then most free to play MMOs when it comes to bots. Even if half the playerbase was bots 500k daily players is lightyears ahead of most (maybe alll) modern day MMOs out there.

The game just simply feels pleasant. Forget that pvp is hella fun, no BDO BS RNG, looks beautiful, cool minimovies, cool mechanics, addicting pvp, non p2w, #1 most awaited game, 2 free 50s after main quest line, etc.. The damn game just simply feels good to play because the sound and idk what but it feels like I'm actually punching or shooting somebody.

I'm not in anything endgame - still grinding out the main story line. But for every guilded player or player I see with an actual name out and about in the world, I probably see 10 or 20 that are named "Llkjhsdf" or "Hgasdf"

That said, apart from the spam, they don't affect me in any way. I don't see any speed hax or anything else - they just appear to be out questing the same as me. I'm sure their efforts are all being funneled into something nefarious, but I couldn't say what.

Its so strange how so many people are in love with this game.

It's nothing but a daily/weekly chore list, time gated, RNG progression based, P2W Korean game.

It's awful to me.. I just don't get it. It has great combat but that's it...

Judging by most of the reviews I see, the redeeming quality this game has is the gameplay.
That's kind of like saying that the "redeeming quality" of water is that it's wet.

some real dumb complaints, like the kid trying to complain about time gating progression in an mmo. and having daily or weekly "tasks".
    smh, can't argue with stupid.

yeah botting in a problem, in all mmos, ffxiv , wow, everything has speed hacking bots gathering and teleporting around, not a new problem, its just more rampant due to f2p and no paywall. easy solution to hinder them is to perm ban gold buyers, right now the devs are only giving 24 hour temp bans, what a joke. perm ban them all and ban their IP, get rid of them forever.

personally im most annoyed by the lack of clarity and transparency from the devs. they have like one guy, who is answering questions in the forums, thats it. We still don't have a roadmap, only a press release that got pulled. Its annoying how apparent the lack of dialog there is from the devs, it reminds me of genshin or something where they ignore the global audience's feedback, and only listen to their local region's feedback. gacha companies do this always, i guess this is all due to communication problems between the korea and america companies.

I really don't understand the appeal of this game. I couldn't even bring myself to get through the leveling process... made it to 40 and had wished I had stopped 20 levels prior, and I've played some MMOs with really bad leveling. Everyone says "You just have to get through the leveling. The game is so good after that!" To me though, I shouldn't have to be mind-numbingly bored for hours on end to be "rewarded" with fun. That's lazy design. As an adult, I don't have that kind of time, but even if I did, I still wouldn't do that. I really just feel like the bar is super low these days for MMOs because the community is so starved for a good one.

Just my opinion obviously, but I firmly believe that had this game released in the early-to-mid 2000s during the golden age of MMOs, it would be considered the same tier as Rappelz or Allods Online.

While the combat controls are not my favorite I am really enjoying the game using my PS3 controller.

I am lvl 46 and just got my ship and got done tortoyk island tonight and started in port changhun!

I really am enjoying the main story line, it's interesting and I like all the little cutscenes and there been some Nooooooooooooooo moments for me too!

Dunno how much I will enjoy the endgame (T3) however there seems to do a whole lot of other things to do.

New World needed a story line line as good as this one. Lost Ark devs could really give them some lessons in how to pull in peeps and make them want to know what happens next.

I'm closing in on 200 hours and there are few games I've invested this much time into in many many years. So for the 15€ I spent for bronze pack has been incredibly well spent and I do plan to pay monthly some time ahead.

Perfect game? No. But it satisfies my MMO & ARPG itch.

I loved the first continents storyline, not the 2nd, and loved the 3rd where I'm at now. The game just has SO MUCH content. Its a full blown mmo, with cutscenes, dungeons are a lot of fun, there are secret dungeon, a ton of content you'[ll just stumble on, world raid style bosses, you get your own stronghold/housing, you get your own ship and there is an ocean with all the major continents for content but also 100+ island to visit that all have their own content on it, there are hidden island as well that only pop up[ at certain times or when certain conditions are met on other islands, there are hard mode style progression dungeons, there are raids, there is reputation and reputation rewards, there is a roster bonus (think star wars legacy) so there is reason to level multitudes of characters, the combat feels like it has a lot of weight. I could go on and on but I was utterly floored at all the game offered. There is one thing that takes getting used to though....you get no exp for killing mobs all the exp comes from doing quests and completing them. That took me a bit to get used to but I actually like the concept now.

The bots have zero impact on me personally and it's to be expected with a F2P game that's been out this long.

I don't notice because I don't really look at the players. May be that is why I don't see them. So many players it is not possible for me to see who or what they are.

I like the game a lot.

I think the game is fun and has some very cool qualities, but I don't think it meets every MMO feature that I personally enjoy. I need more than some fun PvP and tiered raiding. The fluffier chill features aren't here for me or done in a way I enjoy. I've pretty much done what I want to do in the game and am done with it.

Korrigan has mentioned multiple times he enjoys the game.

Plus I don't see how this post makes sense. His post would be something that's used in defense of the game, as in: if you do not notice the bots they do not affect your playing it.
Ok I am lost, I gave Korrigan an insightful because it is good to know that the bots are not taking over every MMO out there and it is certainly a feather in their cap. But now I have no idea what to make of the exchange. :)

I really like this game there is a ton of content and a variety of things to do.   There are cards to collect which give bonuses  1200+ seeds to find, paintings to collect, i think 90 some islands to explore, a rapport system with NPCs, a stronghold that you can decorate, craft things, gather materials,  dungeons, raids, chaos dungeons, etc etc......

That looked like I was directing it at him.  I should have have mentioned that it was at the others in the thread.

First part was in reply to what he wrote. The rest was me ranting at others.

Sorry @The_Korrigan was not meant for you.

Does not make sense that it was directed at him. Surely when a person writes in a thread not everything they post is directed at the person you quote although I suppose it might but common sense should show you it is not. That has to be explained is it ?

    Jeez weez so sensitive.
