MMO dreams

I was wondering what kinda of MMO you are all hoping for? I get many ideas of MMOs I think would be fun as hell to play all the time but they kind of come and go so I ill add more as I think of them.

One of my current MMOs I think would be a cool idea would be an Alien vs Predator MMO. Like with a home planet for each race and constant battle  for territory like Planetside.(human of course also being one of the races)

Id also like to see a game like EVE only FPS style and faster movement and combat. Also I hate when you get to a space station and you hit dock and your ship just dissapears and your automatically in the station. I want to actually fly in and dock my ship manually, exit the craft, and go to my business. I am a big fan of feeling like im actually in control.

Those are my current ideas I will proably think of more later. As u can tell right now im on SciFi and PVP type games :P

I'd like to see a MMO that's similar to MP Batteltech 3025. It would'nt be an RPG. It would be a sim just like the PC mechwarrior series. I'm thinking that the overall warfare would play alot like shattered galaxy with players just dropping into hotspots on this or that planet and trying to take control. Each house and clan would have objectives based on battletech history and get certain bonuses and advantages for meeting those objectives. At the highest level the game would look like risk. Players would not play at that high of a level though. The admin would act the heads of houses and clans and set objectives accordingly.

Players would own their own mechs and be able to customize them in different ways. Clan and House players could move up in rank according to their performance and be allowed to form other players into lances and eventually whole battalions. And let's not forget salvage ;-)

Aside from that I'd like to see Warhammer 40K done in much the same way as Magic: The Gathering Online. With Players buying "virtual" miniatures, skinning them and then taking their armies out to fight other player's armies.

I too would enjoy seeing a wide scale Battletech MMO as well, and have it come with a contorl panel like the one used in Steel Battalion. Have some lite RPG elements tied into it, like LRM or Laser targeting skills, or weight class piloting certifications.

You would also have to have Tanks, Planes, and Battlearmor like they had in Lone Wolf.

I just thought of this!! A survival horror MMO!! The whole thing would take place in an asylum that got boarded up. They were too cheap to move the inmates out, so they just chained the doors, boarded the windows and turned of the water and power. The players could either be the inbred descendants of the inmates or unfortunate teenagers that found themselves trapped inside. It's great fun for those "hardcore"/PvP/permadeath assholes and totally reflects their mindset. The only problem would be coding and modelling all the different ways players could kill eachother.

Real in the sense that you can actually imagine yourself as the character. Although its not really SciFi, it has PVP (Heroes vs Villains, which I think is so freaking awesome). However, this game doesn't have any ships that you can dock, or have ships for that matter :| . That aspect is actually pretty useless. The modes of transportation are all automatic and SHOULD be automatic. No one who is in a hurry wants to waste time docking a ship. No one who isn't even in a hurry would do that. I just think it would be a waste of time, to CONSTANTLY dock your ship to get to one place or another.

COH battle is slow, and feels too turn based to me. Granted I didn't have a bunch of max level characters on multiple servers, but the combat was too slow and the quests too repetitive. The travel between quests was tedious and boring.

The character creation was a blast! I could play on that for hours and not get bored. More options than anything I've seen to date. Was amazing!

A Shadowrun or other cyberpunkish MMORPG. High tech, low life.

    Currently playing:
    * City of Heroes: Deggial, Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. Server: Defiant.
    * City of Villains: Snakeroot, Plant/Thorns Dominator. Server: Defiant.

I am sticking to my hopes for a gritty underworld saga based on a Sci Fi theme...  This could be the 'crime' oriented MMO everyone clamors for, but stepping away from the reality of the world and crime we live in today...  Not anything 'post-apocalypse', but something adult oriented that caters to the fans of such movies as:  Sin City, Fight Club, The Alien Movies, Predator (only the first one), you catch my drift...  Obviously we have plenty of Sci Fi options, but none of them are dark and distrubing at all in the least bit...  If you laid the groundwork for an adult themed Sci Fi MMO, you could incorporate elements of the Wild West, Survival Horror and other ideas mentioned here...  I think there are some Mafia and crime MMO's slated for release, but they will all fail, because after all, who wants to have their character run around with a bunch of other humans?  This is one reason why the Matrix sucked so badly, absolutely zero character differences...  With Sci Fi, you can delve into the darkest and seediest parts of life, while having aliens as playable races, this allows for the proper escape needed for an MMO...
