Releases, do you mean launches and not early access ones? I am going to have to sit down and have a cup of earl grey. Once I have recovered I will take a look at the article.
As the writers for this site struggle with proper definitions one of the upcoming releases is The Cycle Frontier.
Had to waste 10 minutes of my life looking it up only to find it's a FFA full loot PvPvE FPSer with 20 person matches held in 20 minute time blocks, with some survival aspects tossed in.
Sounds more like a fancier BR/survival hybrid than anything else.

Clearly not a MMO but this site, you know...
Not only this site, pretty much every game that came out got a MMO tag these days. Look on Steam lol there's so many game that are not MMO but got a MMO tag so tired of that shit.

Yes, actual launches! The Cycle is the one I was referring to directly, but there are others. Mad World is expected to launch this summer, Chimeraland will be expanding to NA (and EU?), and Foxhole has part 2 of its 1.0 release which I believe is what they are considering launch (though I could be wrong about that). I'm probably missing some.
I'm not sure it really matters any more though. Many early access games are less buggy and feature rich than some games that have officially launched in the last few years, and I'm not just talking indie MMOs.

We covered the conundrum of defining an MMO in the comments from last week's column (you should read it, I need the views!) and I think we came to the conclusion that as long as there is the capacity for multiple people to play on a persistent server and an indie dev is involved, we might as well include it here. I often use the terms MMO, not so MMO, and online multiplayer game when talking about the same game. They're almost interchangeable at this point in gaming history and only the old farts that have been around since the beginning of online gaming seem to give two shits about it.

I like the fact that you respond in the comments to your articles. I do not always know if the writers are even part of the community but it’s good to see the engagement.

If these articles restricted themselves to only games that even the most stringent of purists would consider an MMO, then the articles would be very short and boring.
Mitch, in future posts, would it be possible to include game's website link in the game's name, like in the last weeks post? I found it very nice and helpful, a small QoL feature.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself

I started doing that several weeks ago due to someone requesting it but I still forget to add them in every once in a while. And I don't have access to edit so once it's on the site it's stuck that way. Must. Try. Harder.

I think if there was more upfront detail that issue would be solved, putting in "FFA Full Loot PvPvE FPSer with 20 person matches held in 20 min time blocks" does give you the low down but its a mouthful for small update articles.
However, I think all these games have an entry on the games list, their own page; something like what Kyleran said put there would make more sense.
