0.5 on metacritic user score. Yeah lots of room for improvement.
Only low 60 for reviews in for PC, but higher for mobile, PC reviewers and users obviously have higher standards. Looking at those reviews all players are in the same boat. Many of us won't play it because of the abusive cash shop. If you are a F2Player who ends up leaving after a month because of the penalties of playing without playing you are in the same boat as us. Both sorts of player are not playing or leaving early because of the cash shop, that's the crux here. Though it will still do well if the whales like it, especially as mobile.
Oddly enough, it has a pretty abysmal rating on the Play Store due mostly to how poorly it seems to run on many Android devices.

I would have thought they would have put Android development before PC as the mobile market consistently shows there is more money to be made there since 2018. Oh well, I suppose Android users will have to find some where else to drop 100K while they wait.
I have a feeling that is because they want players playing around with rifts to fill the gap in the ramp up to endgame.
They give you the Braving the Rift quest in Westmarch and give you access, so you know you can boost your character's XP and more directly their loot in tuning up for the next level gated part by churning rifts for a while.
Actually, my mistake thinking that there is no paid XP boost.
I just found out today from a reddit post that they do sell a very hefty XP boost as a battle pass rank advancement in the cash shop. You can buy unlimited extra ranks of the battle pass with their base cash shop currency, orbs, and each rank has a hefty XP reward that comes with it.
Giving you less XP than they should in order to make you run into those advancement lockouts periodically at the archives and after is in fact monetized. It makes sense now

My joke about them listening to your "feedback" and bringing XP boosts to the cash shop has fallen rather flat.
