What's yall favorite Simi MMO game?

Sometimes the massively multi-player isn't needed to have fun as long as it has some kind of multi-player gaming world to link up with people and play with.

My favorite on the list of Simi MMOs would be 7 Days to Die. I had so much fun on the console version and met so many people. I have the PC version, but I don't play it much. Seem so hard to make your own server that people can join. The console version made that so easy to do, that anybody could hop into your world 🌎.  But tech limitations limit it to 4 players on consoles. Rumor is the PS5 version will be closer to the PC version.

I also am liking No Man Sky. It has some similar gameplay points. Cool to run into other players.

Same with Destiny.. I like that experience of running into random players in the game world, just like in MMOs.

Simi MMOs seem to do a better job of co concentrating players into smaller areas to make it easier to bump into randoms unlike MMOs in general,  which spread people out thin outside of towns and instances.

I don't really know what you mean by "simi" MMO, its not a term ive heard before, but from the context of the rest of your post, it seems to mean "normal multiplayer".

In which case, my answer is: none.

I do not enjoy normal multiplayer games. I love single player. I love couch-coop. I love massively multiplayer.

For me, normal multiplayer games give us the worst of both worlds. The story and gameplay, and progression, is generally worse than single player games and compromised in some way or another. Then the multiplayer aspect, whilst more convenient, is nearly always with complete randos and so the amount of douchebaggery is way higher than in an MMO. The lack of persistence makes it way harder to form long term connections, so the social aspect is always shit. The combat mechanics also usually tend to be extremely shallow, because if you put anything with depth in it then the randos wouldn't be able to coordinate well enough to succeed.

So, these days I pretty much avoid all normal multiplayer games. I do play Mario Kart 7 online every now and again, but thats about it.

I thought it was "Simi" like short for Simian, like a monkey. Like Monkey games. So like... Donkey Kong or Escape From Monkey Island.

I thought he meant simulation MMO.

But we have proved that truism in life that it does not matter what question is asked or what is said; our minds make of words what they want to.

Given the examples he gave in the first comment, I'd assume he means "games that aren't MMOs, but have MMO-ish elements".

So, maybe meaning a "semi-MMO"?  I think even he/she lost interest in their own thread as they haven't bothered with it since.

Probably embarrassed about the spelling mistake that was much more than just a typo since he spelled "semi" as "simi" multiple times.

Kind of took the wind out of the OP's sails which was after all just the same perspective about non-MMO, MO games that many have expressed about games like Conan Exiles, FO76 and other MOs with some of the traditional MMO features.

Many of those games are fun and well done but I've always felt that forum posters and writers' cutesy names like "not-so-MMO" etc. for them are totally unnecessary if they just called them MOs instead of "_________ (insert qualifier here) MMOs" or just referred to all of them, MMOs and MOs alike, as "shared world games" like some writers have done.

Here I was thinking that Simi was some kind of automated, speaking device, which I don't really want in the house.

Ah, so I wonder what does he actually DOES, with such a grandiose name?  Not much MMO Exposing going on here then, is there.  Not much contribution either.  I know which threads to ignore now at least...

Maybe he exposes himself in MMOs?
