I'd love to say I'm surprised, but uttering "FFA Full Loot PvP" is practically a curse upon the health of any game.
Yeah no surprise at all. Do you think the Devs are surprised lol. I wonder how out of touch someone is to be surprised by another DOA FFA Full Loot PVP gankbox.
I think they are talking now about letting there be some areas be PVE lol. Yeah thats really going to real in the PVE'ers. Here is some scraps, please thank us. There was a time when PVE players could be treated like Dogs, but I think the corner has been turned on that.
I read on Reddit that large gangs were going around and constantly killing the new players and smaller bands until the stopped playing. They would not allow them to collect resources or build so they killed off their own community. It's like a cannibal eating their arm.

And off they go to the latest FFA full loot PvP game to kill that one as well.
Kind of reminds me of the promotional bit about the economy in Dual Universe:
An empire of immeasurable wealth begins with one humble quanta, the currency of the galaxy. These wheelers and dealers don’t merely operate within the rules of supply and demand, they command them. The free economy presents infinite opportunities for slick captains of industry, ambitious resource tycoons, and stalwart shipwrights. Craft and sell your own creations or act as a broker for makers who prefer to focus on their craft.
And then you watch the developers' video announcing the pre-launch wipe where they spend some time in the early part of the video talking about why one of the reasons for the wpe is how messed up the economy currently is due to dupes and exploits lol.
It's why I'm also equally skeptical of the viability of player run economies - player run anything really - in games without even getting into an NFT discussion.
Griefers grief and cheaters cheat in any way they can and they're very creative about getting around the rules.

I use to love full loot open world games, but in this day and age it just doesnt work.
back when it worked
there wasnt huge clans joining to dominate a server or you didnt have streamers with their thousands of bootlickers following them game to game to dominate a server then leave when the population falls to nothing because nobody wants to stay and deal with that shit.
seen so many of these types of games just die because the player base pretty much kills it, this is why there has to be some kind of rules when it comes to the pvp or it devolves into nothing but gank fest and people quitting.

Theoretically, balancing a make-believe economy where you control all of the currency creation and distribution should be relatively easy. You have the absolute best position to correct any economy issues that may come up.
I think most studios don't have anyone who understands economies enough to properly manage them.

When they get heavily controlled, as in BDO, players bitch lol.
You should have seen all the gaming libertarians lose their shit here when they learned that in BDO the devs set the price you can sell things for in the AH
But you're right, most MMOs don't have a clue.

Before season 5, I couldn't get into it, traveling for miles to find resources and constantly being killed by players was a turn off for me, plus not being able to build a base was also a let down, But now season 5, I am actually enjoying it now and actually enjoy getting resources and building a huge base and hunting.

That's awesome. As I mentioned, my pre-season 5 play was very limited, and I only played a dozen hours or so of season 5. It's always good to see a different perspective, especially since you've probably spent much more time with the game than I have.

Game devs are not the only ones with this problem. Seems to be alot of bad economy management going around these days.
True! To be fair, a global pandemic is just *going* to cause some economic repercussions. That's inevitable.
But you expect your country's leaders to have a better plan, considering it isn't the first time the country has had to respond to global catastrophe (multiple world wars, for one).

Every catastrophe requires a different response, global pandemic hadn't been seen in modern times.
Wars we're well experienced in, negative consequences of global warming and responses to it, not so much.

I wouldn't worry too much about the global warming thing, just do your own thing and ignore it, works for me at least. As for growing things, its one of my favourite things to do, good luck with growing grapes though they are a PITA, i'd rather just buy the finished product!

While 70% of CO2 is produced by three countries that have no intention of lowering their output, namely Russia, China and India, global warming is just going to keep going up. The rest of the world could be "carbon zero" and CO2 would march on at 70% of what it is now.
That is why I have been advocating for years that we stop anymore green taxes and switch to "preparing for warming taxes". Better sea defences, river defences, bridge supports where they could be hit by floods, river terracing, then a look at irrigation and expanding water supply. By the time I think the West wakes up to this we will be about twenty years behind events.
Just Started play Last Oasis, Like the gameplay but the overlay needs some work to, makes the game look cheap. But enjoy it anyways, Just uploaded a video to my channel check it out!
