Is this a good or bad thing though?

I hear it's going to become a LotR/KOTOR crossover game now.

Embracer owns Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic. People thought LotRO's microtransactions were bad before, just wait. And throwing some unknowns on a cash grab "remaster" ( we all know those usually fall somewhere between "lackluster" and "total shit" even when done by well known studios ) of one of the most beloved RPG's does them no favors. Sorry, I'll pass.

    Sir, this is a Wendy's.

I don't know what type of micro transactions one could include in a remake of a single player game.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

I was hoping this Embracer Group was going to invest a bit into Cryptic's Star Trek Online when they took it over from Perfect World Entertainment, but hasn't happened & it's just been more deluge of online gambling with a sprinkle of of new content added.

They have a ton of remastering experience, specifically in the FPS department with Halo and Crysis.

I'd be worried that they don't have a huge RPG background to bring to the table.

I don't see how this will impact LOTRO. Embracer bought the rights that SSG licenses. Once the current lease is up, Embracer could decide not to continue to lease to SSG, but they don't have any say in development/monetization.

    Dead Space 3
    Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    Forza Motorsports 7
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla
    Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

Source: 20 sec Google search with results from some site named Kakuchopurei.
Verfied because I own all of those games except Forza.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remastered had mtx added, but I'm not sure if it was in the single or multiplayer portion.
