I played MWO for years. It is a good PvP mech game. It has a low but rather dedicated player base (usually 500-1000 conccurent players). However it is on maintenance mode and the graphics not even near this one (cryengine 3?).
What concerns me about this one is
1) mech weaponry customization (MWO is great in this regard).
2) Is it born dead? I am no battletech fan. But battletech fans support MWO, and I thank them for that. I am afraid this new game will just die within months which is a strong problem for any PvP based game. You know like "Century age of ashes": a beautiful dragon PvP game with impressive flight sensations and awesome graphics (and effing dragons!!!). Well it is not even one year old, and the player count at the time of writing is 175 conccurent players...
When I saw the ads on youtube I thought this was gonna be a F2P game like Hawken was. Don't mind paying for multiplayer only games but I don't see this game having any population with an upfront cost of $20. Needs some single player content.
