They float numbers like that because it can lure in the sheep that are attracted to numbers....They like games like this because well 50 million other people can't be wrong! Right?
That's wrong. Registered accounts is anything but worthless numbers.
As many as possible is always good, because guess what? The revenue comes from registered accounts. Yes, not from you or from me. But from my brother for exemple and many others I know, which are .. registered accounts.
..and 50 mil registered accounts is an amazing achievement. Because of this .. 50 mil registered users, Perl Abyss is who they are today. They already got your email and whenever they come up with another game or another x-pac, you are targeted. And...as they say it : You never know!

Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
It does a lot of things horribly and at the same time provides a glorious and flashy meditative experience.
BDO improved a lot in terms of accessibility. Season characters are very good kickstarters to set foot in BDO. They are also now quests allowing you to get a warrantied PEN accessory and the same for a weapon (or armor? Both? I forgot).
Nowadays, thank to Arena of Solas one can even enjoy PvP without being geared (that could have been done a long time ago...).
Finally they also improved the silver in the grinding spots, which sounds good on paper but contributed to inflation and devaluated IMO the work of life-skillers.
Revenue comes from ACTIVE accounts, not registered accounts.
Yes, that is correct.
But the title reads "50 million registered accounts" . Aka total number of accounts, ACTIVE or NOT. Paid or not. This are the total number of users: free, trial, paid, active, inactive, etc.
Got it? Good? Nice!
