I'm looking into it. However because of health conditions I cant play video games for more than one hour anymore. That sucks because what I like to do is group content and dungeons.... This is the vary nature of a REAL mmorpg. I wouldn't want to join a group and have to leave (It's the code of honor).
I'll have to study the game more, will have to see. Hopefully I'll see you guys in game
For a subscription game the graphics look like crap and so do the animations. Only one twitch streamer and just walking around looks "floaty" and slidey.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
I'm watching a twitch stream right now - I don't mind the graphics, but the performance is very bad, and the combat... is just awful
I think your right, I don't care about the graphics but the combat is what I'm worried about. Like I say I'll look harder but have to go out right now.
Again, it's a different game. Not going to appeal to the grafix bros or the blackdesert players. But it's deff more fun that what it looks like from watching a noob stream it on twitch.
IT IS going to be a big turn off for people who need that instant gratification constantly, but for those that want to play a game that is more deliberate, this is a fun game.
...snip... but the performance is very bad, and the combat... is just awful
Indeed that's what I mean by animations are bad and yeah combat looks very slow and tediously boring.
I don't see this lasting very long.
Graphic wise, they actually have some very nice dynamic lighting in that dungeon. People carry torches, project shadows everywhere, that looks great. But the animations... combat... ugh ! That's horrible, even for an indie game.

I am a weak soul. I bought it and now- I need to wait 2 hrs for official release. Just a heads up! People who play now are early backers and testers.
Well, that streamer did a dungeon, it's really old school, but I'm sure there's a niche for that game. His group was having fun, that's the most important thing in a game anyway. And they have a fucking awesome lighting engine... the animations are pretty bad though

Lets see how it is.
I would not be a mmorpg nerd if I didnt try it out :P
Been playing this game past couple days. It's fun. It's straight out of the year 2002, in both the good and not so good ways, faithful to a fault (including poor performance optimization!).
I almost gave up in the first hour because, much like mmos of that time, it's unpolished and gives you little direction. It definitely does not hold your hand like modern mmos do, which was rough at first. If you're not ready to give it a few hours to warm on you then you might quit. But you ask the chat questions and they help you. Then a bit further in and you find yourself having fun, teaming up with other players, and perhaps making memories with them.
This is of course just how things are at launch, it will surely get less popular. I'm not really thinking about its future though, just having fun and making memories right now. To me it's worth it even if it ends up just a two-month endeavor. Definitely not a game for everyone but it's been fun for me, not the best built game but has given me a taste of the old school with a new community still figuring stuff out.
I played this game back around 2 years ago when it was saga of lucimia
during an alpha/bata testing. Seems they shut it down and renamed it.
Yesterday I watched streaming video on and off for three hours by Nathan NAPALM. I found it to be boring and non-full of fun things to do, just like saga of lucimia only adding a dungeon. Also how many zones does this have ? Only seeing one.
Game is like an alpha of a game made in 2000. As much as a few folks keep trying to spin this as a good thing, it's not.
Well, here is exactly the problem..... When I was watching Nathan's group dungeon video one of the guys said "this game is ok but I'm really trying to like an mmorpg but cant"
Meaning they don't make them anymore. Meaning this is an mmo where people are playing together. Its just not a good one.
Also how many zones does this have ? Only seeing one.
There are three I've personally been in many I have not I see frequently discussed in chat. There are also huge underground networks of tunnels, caves, remainders of constructed chambers and such. I have only personal been in one but have mention of others. There is more said to be coming in the new future.
There is certainly a good deal more than one but so far as my limited knowledge extends I don't believe they reach double digits in number.
Hopefully someone with a more precise answer will come along.
Accurate. I'm enjoying it specifically because it does feel like a 2000 mmo. I'm about the group questing, overworld dangers, and leveling being the main game. The alpha-like aspects I'm not so about, lol, but is what it is. It's an okay game aimed at a specific crowd that has no other games made for them in a long time.
this is an mmo where people are playing together. Its just not a good one.
We need one, just not the ESO style of easy crap.
I agree. It's still kinda fun though if you've been missing this style. Feels good to die to things again. And to get lost again, to start quests with strangers and end them with a longer friends list. I'll probably only play for a couple months but I appreciate it for doing what's not being done right now.

It's not spin. I've seen many speak genuinely of how good they feel the game is and how excited they are for that said to be coming.
The key is of course... they feel.
It's the same old story. One sees trash, another treasure. That only a few will see glitter while most grime in this case doesn't change what it is to either group.

Agreed, if less people made it a sport of trashing games they don't like, maybe we would lose less posters on this forum.

I think you have a lot of people that are feelings based. They find it there job to hype or down a game based on their feelings. They don't look at things objectively at all.
These people will tell you how amazing their pet rock is, and will say anything to convince everyone how special their pet rock is and say they will be buying pet rocks as an investment for the rest of their life.
Then after 6 months goes by, they are off to cabbage patch dolls or whatever the next fad is. Conveniently no mention about what happened to their pet rock investment.
