I thought it was ridiculous enough when vendors started advertising their parts as "gaming" motherboards or "gaming" light strips or some such. But "gaming" blockchains? That's even worse.
Soon to be followed by Gaming NFT's and Gaming Crypto.
Because there's nothing about the tech that makes games better.
They're trying to sell us on the idea that "true ownership" of NFTs is better or that making theoretical pennies by playing is better but neither of those has anything whatsoever to do with a game playing or being better.
A new unreal engine? Yeah, that has the potential to make games better. This shit does not.

In fact this technology has the potential to make gaming worse. Instead of fighting bad guys and having adventures imagine a game that was more akin to those dreadful Take Surveys for Cash Sites.

The goal with these is not even to make the game better anymore. Many proponents don't even try to make those arguments at this point anymore.
They argue things like making a little money when you stop playing or taking assets between games, neither of which have any real positive effect at all on the actual experience in the game itself. It's about making or saving money, as if studios are going to consciously create NFT systems that help players make or save money when the cost of making these games continues to rise and that is not the path we saw microtransaction follow.
This is what gets me, something like VR is still struggling to become the next big thing in gaming, but a gaming blockchain is a natural fit and will be the next big thing? Right.
Speaking of "blockchains", I installed Star Trek Online today via the Arc launcher, and along with it installed a Karbo Daemon, which appears to be some sort of crypto miner. I only noticed something was amiss when my PC fans started running fullbore. This happened once before when I installed Neverwinter Online through the same Arc launcher. I removed it, but really? How do they get away with this?
