is it common to see lots of other players running around dragon isles and other parts of the world as well as the major cities? I remember trying wow again after a long time absent and the game felt less of an MMO than it had been. Is there still no universal chat like there used to be? Game seemed devoid of life and there was no talking anywhere like in the past.

What do you mean?

You don't compete for gathering nodes or for many enemies in the world, even between factions.

Also, with battle groups the zones are filled with people from 5 or more different servers.

I'm not even sure your comment is about WoW.
