I can only applaud anyone who has put that sort of time in, but I think many young gamers would faint if they found out they needed to put that many hours in to have an opinion.
There are informed opinions and then there are yours.
I was actually going to reply to you then Lahnmir topped you with the thousands of hours.
You guys should know how much I respect putting the hours in, I am a completionist in solo and when playing a MMORPG I only ever play one other solo game at a time.
But I do think we can take it too far, first "are you playing", then "have you reached top level", then "have you played forever". I know you have not said this yet but I am waiting for one of you to say "You did not play it my way."
Fact is, I have been there, I have questioned guild members who raided as to how relevant their comments are on raids they have not yet done. Like I said we can take it too far. Let them opine and tell them why its wrong, after all what are forums for?
Just to be absolutely clear, everybody is entitled to their opinion, no matter how many hours you have played or whatever content you have or haven’t done, you can always voice your opinion.
However, not all opinions are equally valuable and when you dive into the specifics of a certain game the more knowledgeable person will be correcting you if you say things that simply aren’t true. You can still think D3 is the most horrible thing ever after just five minutes of play but you can’t state there hasn’t been any content added when there has been for instance. The actual problem arises when someone is confronted with their lack of actual knowledge and doubles down on their point of view instead if learning/admitting fault/whatever.
I have an obscene amount of hours in D3 since day one, across three different platforms. That does not make me a mindless fanboy or an authority, it does however provide me with enough knowledge to separate the nonsense from the facts.
As it does in Iselins’ case as every example that he provides is spot on. The examples Brainy calls ‘modified content’ are complete game changers and open up new ways of play and builds across all the classes on fundamental levels, it blows many scenarios wide open. These changes might seem insignificant on the outside, people who have actually played experiencing them simply know better. And I don’t really see a problem with that to be honest, we can’t all be knowledgeable about single every thing, sometimes others just know stuff better on a specific subject, no need to take offense to that.
/Cheers, Lahnmir
I take no offence, you are one of the most reasonable posters we have; it is just that when the replies move from 'why they are wrong' to 'you just haven't put the time in' that I wonder if posters realise where that takes us.
As for the doubling down, that is what people do, I would not describe it as human nature, but it's pretty close. Who gives up an idea when it is first tested? If we did we would have far shorter conversations on here and be far less likely to get to the bottom of an issue.

No, you can't generalize and then extrapolate from your generalization to "you did not play it my way." That's just silly nonsense.
Sometimes people know what they're talking about. Sometimes people think they know but they actually don't. Sometimes people pretend they know when they actually don't... extremely common in social media.
Sometimes people who don't know tell someone who does know to "get a grip."
When disrespected by being told to get a grip, that creates a different dynamic.
You can ignore it, try to laugh it off with a cat meme or whatever, or disrespect the other person right back.
In this case, considering the source and what I know about their posting history, I chose to disrespect them right back with both barrels.
9 times out of 10 I would do that again.
Capisci?
I would ask why a poster has started down the line of name calling rather than the lock stock and two smoking barrels approach. But I understand not everyone will do that, we all get cheesed of sometimes. As an after thought I have been called out for "Come on" in a post, that alone, so this is in many ways in the eye of the beholder.
I don't think I was generalising, there is a line to be drawn connecting all I said. I am sure you have seen avatar class discussions, they can get close to "you did not play it my way". But admittedly I was exaggerating with that last one to show how I think this can go too far, though note I did say you had not gone that far.
I don't expect you to change Iselin. But then neither can you expect those of us who find this all a bit entitled to change either and I say that as someone who has put more time in games than I care to remember, and so know the dedication it takes.
I can remember the first few months after ESO launched feeling I has having to field (obviously there was no onus) loads of negative posts from posters who had clearly not yet been in the game more than a week, if at all. It was tiresome and you lose your cool. Hopefully I won't go down that road again, but I likely will, it is there waiting in all of us.
It’s kind of hard to take the Diablo story seriously anymore - nr 1 and 2 set a good, dark gothic tone..
But Diablo 3…when the bosses started Facetiming you, just to you tell you they were big bad and evil..that is the absolute biggest crap story telling in the history of Diablo.
They took a feature from StarCraft 2, where it’s natural that they communicate through Comms devices - and thought that would fit well for lords of hell ..
Azmodean: «How do i turn this thing on..Hello?Heeellloooooo!…oh..right..there we go…..HERO - I AM THE LORD OF- what was is again? Oh right….I AM THE LORD OF SIN! I WILL CONSUME YOUR SOUL! Azmodean out! How do i turn this thing off? hello? God damn it! I MEAN DIABLO DAMN YOU!

No its you that is able to understand the concept of new content and modified content. Tell me what is making D3 seasons different than all the games out there with mods?
Mods can completely change the look and feel of a game, they can reuse the same content in a unique way just by changing the variables. So go ahead "genius" rather than pointing to someone else, go ahead and make a relevant point.
Your entire agrument rests on, I dont know what he said, but he is right, but hey I put 2k hours in so I must know what I am talking about right? ..... LOL geez.

To be fair that's hardly the first time a studio has put in misplaced humour and ported in a "great" idea from another game. But that sort of thing is a pet hate of mine, CiV 6 how could you?
Mike Minotti, editor of the VentureBeat page, compares Diablo 4 to the second part. He is especially pleased with the gloomy atmosphere, which differs from the cartoony look of the third part. He also praises the combat system based on Diablo 3. Anyone who has played the third part will understand what and how to do. In closing, Mike said, “... if you've played Diablo 3, Part 4 is pretty much the same. But aesthetic changes are important. Diablo 4 is dark and brutal."

I can hear it now. Toxic D4 community, rage kills, etc. We'll see. Blizzard tends to attract some nasty people. Thankfully there is the option to leave chat if necessary. But it's something about the negative environment that polishes the game in a way. Not sure how I feel on this.
Would be nice to have some positive communities with people that actually enjoy playing the game and respect each other.
I dont know man, something about this game doesnt set well in my stomach. The realism and everything. They are messing with forces they cant comprehend imo. The old school games with the bad graphics made it fun because it wasnt so realistic. To each his own I suppose. And I know Im not the only one who feels this way.
