There is no issue here. It is $10 USD extra for Sindarin VO pack but it also includes a soundtrack, art exhibition and alore compendium. The VO is just one of the things included in their 'deluxe edition'
This is not a story and once again, people are overreacting.
It's a new type of thing that (afaik) has not been reserved for such an edition for any other major game release, so it's worthy of note even if you don't care. I redirect you back to the post about it being an essential part of the IP in the way the numerous monster types in the Witcher are essential and would be distasteful to reserve for an upcharged price.
I respect your feeling that it is essential part of the IP. I do not feel the same. Shadow of Mordor/War games are some of my favorite 3rd person action games in the past few years and I do not feel adding a language to the game would have done anything at all for my experience. It is an extra and not required to enjoy the game it just adds another layer of immersion for fans of the IP. Personally I play many games in Korean anyway and do not prefer another language. (Made up or otherwise) Besides, after 6 months or so the game will probably be down to $29.99 USD for the 'complete edition' anyway. Interested parties can buy it then.
I don't expect everyone to see it the same in this instance. I feel it's worthy of note because it cuts monetization too close to the essential parts of an IP, and that's something that everyone would care about if it's their preferred game type/IP.
Like carving the final chapter of story quests of a JRPG or all companion dialogue. Or character packs to populate the world with NPCs. It cuts to the heart of why folks enjoy said thing, literally carves that heart out, and holds it over their head for more cash.
God, I hate websites like the one on your link where the only options before you can see anything are to agree to cookies or customize where some cookies still have to be accepted.
Ditto. Instantly hit the back button. Do the same thing with sites that complain about my ad blocker. Pop ups or crap that opens another window can also die in a fire. I don't even care what else is on the website when the first second I'm their it does that crap.
Yeah. Interrupt me with that crap, and the answer is always, "NO!". And a hurried exit, stage left.

People complain suba, so f2p people complain. Loot boxes people complain. They have to generate revenue. Do so many people not understand? What revenue stream do people suggest. Cosmetics? If that was enough, they wouldn't need to seek out.

I think many would prefer the Game Pass model. See also Netflix.

Well ... I would prefer it if games would work the traditional way.
I.e. you publish the game itself and then maybe one, at most three addons. Then maybe a followup game that can be played standalone but might continue the story of the previous game, plus another one to three addons, and so on.
We already see it now for example with Stellaris. You have to spent like $300 to actually buy that game now. Thats just absurd.

They would get more money from me. I don't buy much from stores. I do occasionally if I play a game a lot in order to throw some coin the developers way. Pass or sub, and you'd get steady money from me.
