Just in case some of you haven't seen this video it's totally worth watching!  Anyone that has recently bought  ASUS mobo that still is in the return period might want to send it back .... lol

Also from Jaz2cents:

TLDW:

ASUS' actions relating to the Exploding Ryzen CPU debacle are disgraceful and abrasive to the trust that the brand has earned. ASUS has demonstrated clearly it wishes to not only avoid supporting users, but actively engineers ways to abandon them. ASUS' updates haven't even fixed the problems, yet they posture as if they have while simultaneously suggesting that users 'just run defaults' on their $700 motherboards, as if that makes any sense whatsoever. So, to accommodate ASUS' request, we ran defaults and re-benchmarked the Ryzen 7000 series. It sucks. Big surprise. They also don't support their own BIOSes for the ASUS ROG boards.

You can also thank Iselin who also post a brief summary just scroll down a bit to his post!

How about a brief summary of what the issue is for those of us who rarely watch random videos on a forum meant for text chat?

After all, this isn't YouTube or Twitch you know.

But whats the point of linking the video then? You know you, me and those like us are not going to watch it. :)

There's a problem with one of their newer motherboards with voltage that can kill your motherboard and processor.

They released a beta BIOS that is supposed to fix it but doesn't.

If you don't read the fine print of the beta BIOS you wouldn't know that using a beta BIOS voids the warranty.

Possible end result: dead CPU and MB and no warranty.

Looks like this only affects AMD AM5 socket boards.  Am I understanding that correctly?

If so, AMD has gotta be a little frustrated.

What an unfortunate oversight. I've been pretty happy with most Asus gear.

I've been using their boards almost exclusively for 20 years.

Last few years their quality, and CS has gone down by lots and their scumminess has went up sadly as in they try to hide sheet etc kind of like newegg does.

When it comes to hardware mobo included you shouldn't shop by brand but check out reviews and reports on quality/breakdowns etc.  You do this cause one line from the next can vary greatly one line can suck arse then the next line up be really good and that true for like every brand.

BTW I forgot when making my OP I have fellow old curmudgeons that don't like videos and want to read instead but didn't check back till today and it seems someone else has posted a tldr so... :p sorry!  Keep on showing each other the love!

ASUS is hasn't really been a good pick for AMD chips. The last 3 I had all lost sound and could never get the memory at rated specs.

The scumbag part is  ASUS released a beta bios update that would void warranty if used.

I personally will never use ASUS  and I've been that way for the last decade.
