ESO is the best solo+casual friendly game out. The amount of content accessible to the solo player is overwhelming bordering on absurd. Some people love the combat, some hate it. It's an opinion thing, so that's up to you to figure out. Another huge plus in its favor is the bargain price they sell it at. Buying the latest expansion gives you access to ALL previous expansions as well. If you also sign up for the subscription that gives you access to everything the box price doesn't plus a monthly stipend of cash shop currency. So if you get the current expack on sale plus 1 month of the subscription for about $50 UD you get access to an insane amount of content. At the end of the month you can cancel and move on having had way more content than most single player games or continue.

Most other MMOs are going to slap you in the face with "end game" where you're expected to start group content to continue to advance your character. If you're a casual player you probably don't have time for that mess, so that's when you're pulling the ripcord on that game.

If I had the time I would invest in mostly Mortal Online 2 or Albion Online... those are probably the best right now?
I'm really enjoying MO2.  Haven't played Albion in a while, I might have to check it out.  A whole lot of changes and additions since last I visited.

If you like PUBG, you would definitely enjoy Farlight 84. :) Don't worry it's beginner friendly.

I thought New World was going to be way better...on paper, it looks like it has everything you'd want in a MMO......but it has alot of issues you dont know about until you play......

    1. PVE is ridiculously easy......I didnt die once and that was battling problem #2....
    2. the game was pretty laggy, especially in big cities and instances
    3. too many players just hung out in cities and did nothing
    4. there was no reason to craft until maybe the very end game
    5. the game was too much numbers.....i didnt have gear, I had numbers...gear score always stinks.

Gaming is mostly dead at this point anyway. Hopefully AI will breathe some life back into this industry.

Isn't it like the 2nd most played mmorpg right now according to steam charts?  And the first is destiny 2 which isn't even a mmorpg.

Not really sure it's dead given all the money going into into it and all the money players are spending.

I just saw a statistic indicating that last year the games industry had 184 billion in revenue. And even though that's a few billion less than the previous year, it still doesn't really point to it being dead.

They don't make many games like Lineage 2 or other old school titles anymore so am at a loss at what to recommend.

You might try Albion Online, F2P, but P2W seems somewhat manageable.

I consider it dead because the player bases have been fractured too far. Solo console gaming is being catered too, and I don't like console gaming.

Very early days of Early Access, so bear that in mind, but for me it's The Bloodline...  https://store.steampowered.com/app/1159290/The_Bloodline/  All done by 1 Dev.

I'm 50 hours into the game and using alts to try things out as I discover them.  That's at least 35 more hours than I clocked up in Starfield before I cancelled my Game Pass, which I was treating as an extended demo.  People seem universally enthusiastic about it. This guy does some good videos about the game.

You should all try playing real life right now. The challenges have never been greater. Nor have the rewards.

It's not as though anyone has a choice. If you're alive you must play it. If you're dead you can't play it.

There are so many people not playing real life right now. It is very disturbing. Real life expert mode needs to deactivate, or people should be able to choose what level of difficulty they want to play real life. Real life is currently set to expert mode, and it seems to be the only mode. Some CEO's need to be nerfed in real life. Life is just way too hard at the moment for most people.

Sorry, I'm just not a big fan of perma-death games.

Everybody alive is playing real life as it cannot be otherwise. What they aren't doing is playing the same real life.

People don't get to choose their starting life difficulty as that depends on choices made by their parents. What people do get to do is influence the difficulty and quality of their lives thereafter though the choices they make and actions they take for themselves.

Real life is on the easiest mode as it has ever been, save for those that live in underdeveloped nations. If you want hard look to the past where much of the quality of life we now take for granted wasn't even imagined yet. Go back far enough and you'll find mere survival was a full-time job with mandatory overtime for everyone.

It's not that life is too hard for most people. It's that most people are now too soft for life.

What you think CEOs need will matter when you are in a position to influence what CEOs get.

I disagree. Everyone is seizing the opportunity to find a profession and level their real-life skills and attributes all over the world. The Chinese are doing it with their manufacturing. The Chinese harvest, craft, transmute, forge, and horde resources.  America is doing it with college. America is using college to reinvent and solve technology and medicine. Africa is doing it thru migration. There trying to find work and start a business boom in their own country and take their resources back. Europe is doing it by embracing green energy. They aim to take green energy and tech to the next level.

While your technically correct, we are all living the same climate change challenge. The solutions to fix climate change are devastating realms. The cost of living is so high, that even the rich are having a hard time atm. The real-life auction house is becoming more unaffordable by the day. Chinese crypto farmers can't produce enough affordable real-life money that players can buy to convert to their realm's real-life currency. You can't buy enough in game money and convert it to real life currency anymore. We need more Chinese miners back online.

Can you really say with a straight face that real life is in easy mode? Housing is so expensive, professions are in a recession, and harvestable, crafted, and resource items are suffering from inflation.

"It's not that life is too hard for most people. It's that most people are now too soft for life."
To soft? Do you understand how many people are living in an encampment, homeless and looking for a profession. You need to quest in real life more often so you can see the tragedies happening all around you.

When I buy a hundred scrolls, and I am a shareholder, I can criticize the CEO. Thats how the auction house works.

Eso, gw2 and swtor are all good options. Eso has a lot to explore as does gw2 both with healthy populations.

Swtor is great for story but the pop is slowly dieing and the games future is grim. It's worth a free play for the story each class has one and some are amazing.

Gw2 seems more for the fashion and bragging rights than anything. The episodic story is frustrating at times.

Eso has a lot to do and can be overwhelmingly full with quests. You almost have to sub or inventory becomes a mini game in itself. Lots of fine story work as well.

I am getting into runescape 3 again on the side as I wait for a new mmo myself. I had hope for a vr mmo I was keeping an eye on but that just went ea and it isn't looking good.

It's not subject to your agreement. That people are born into different circumstances is a matter of fact as is the limitation that some of these place on a person's life options. For example, in some Islamic nations the options a woman has can be quite limited due to cultural aspects.

I'm not "technically" correct that one's starting life difficulty depends on the choices made by one's parents. I am correct without qualification. Environment and economy apply to everyone so the distinguishing element remains the choices made by one's parents in response to them.

I did say life is in the easiest mode it has ever been with a straight face (with the noted exception) so yes I really can. Houses are expensive, but at least there are houses. There may be a recession, but at least we have an advanced economy. Resources may be costing more, but at least we are well able to collect and extract them with relative ease.

At one time mankind had to rely on natural shelter as we were yet unable to construct our own. Trade where it existed was though barter, a clumsy means of exchange. We were quite limited in the resources we could collect and the process was lengthy and laborious. Those vulnerable often died quickly as conditions were harsh and medical knowledge lacking. Life at one time was brutally difficult for everyone. So yeah, we have it pretty cushy these days at least in the developed world.

There are some living homeless and life is harder for them than their contemporary fellows, but not quite primitive hard. There are many others that have an astoundingly better quality of life that what mankind once had. Perhaps your vision is too narrowly focused on tragedy to see beyond it.

You can criticize the CEO of any company without owning any shares. Regardless, I said influence... not criticize... and I doubt 100 shares in any publicly traded company will provide that.
