MS has said they will push this though if they won this vs FTC. So this is mostly over. They wont be waiting for the CMA to approve the deal and will buy ABK before the deadline of July 18th

We're writing up our report on this right now, but one thing we're reading is that MSoft might actually ask for an extension to the acquisition to get past the CMA's July 28th hearing (since the deadline to acquire is July 18th). But nothing definitive just yet from what we can see either way.
I for one will be very happy when this is all over one way or another, lol.

Same, then we can all go back to bitching about our favorite dead horses which we hold near and dear to our hearts on this site.

Every major market now has an approved stamp on it. If the CMA does not fold, they are idiots.
This was a foregone conclusion because the FTC tried to play politics with a very weak anti-trust case, which I've said from the start of all this. In the AP article I linked the judge concluded the FTC didn't have a strong anti-trust case and their angle of protecting Sony, as a competitor, and not damage to the consumer was misplaced.
Of course this was foregone because we're in peak late stage necrotic Capitalism that has been vitamin fed deregulation over the last decade. Are we supposed to lament Sony despite the fact that they are free to continue their anticompetitive practices just like Microsoft or Apple are free to throw their checkbooks around? Sony just needs to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, amiright?

Judge had to remind the FTC they were not their to protect Sony but the consumer. Was a sad moment for the FTC lol

Not unexpected though. lol Even if the FTC had had lots of strong evidence it's MS...they got lots of money to throw at such "problems".

Ya, Phill Spencer can spend 400 million without even talking to the board to get approval. I do think the 70 billion + court fees etc. Will slow down MS gaming division for a while. In the fight with the FTC. It became clear MS wants it gaming division to tighten its margins. Become more profitable in short.
